    My Tacoma on the road from Hart's Pass to Azurite Mine, Washington State.

    The Forest Service warned of "washouts" on the road, looks more like stuff washed in. Alas it's not possible to drive all the way to the mine due to even bigger wash ins like the one my truck is sitting on. The road to the mine was built in 2010 to get equipment in to clean up pollution.

    Roads don't last long here without maintenance, too much rain and snow.

    I love that area. I have a brother and a sister who live in Mazama. I have done a lot of exploring up in the hills around there. There are miles and miles of dirt roads to explore on the north side of highway 20 from Harts Pass all the way to Winthrop and beyond.

    We've been camping east of Burgdorf the last few years with a big group from the Boise area. Oct. can be pretty damn cold up there, so the hot springs are nice. I don't remember where we were, I guess we stopped to check out the lookout and found a Geo-cache while we were there, just out driving. Before I was pulling a camp trailer we came down from Riggins along the river and up over the top to Burgdorf. Nice drive!
