If I get a buck the first weekend, I'm thinking about trying to pop a doe with this the second...

None yet, but its about to get rolling.
Does PSA or others usually have Black Friday type sales this time of year? Just bought a stripped lower and want to build a 6.8 to go along with my .223

A couple years ago, they did $50 lowers. That was an awesome day.

eveyone does black friday deals on gun stuff. Troy does huge discounts on rails and sights. BCM usually does 10-15% off orders. If youre in the market for AR stuff, hold out till that weekend.

Picked up my new S&W MP15X yesterday. It's a 5.56 with quadrail and drop down rear iron sight. Looking at an Aimpoint PRO for optics and a surfire tac light.

Checked out PSA's website today. They had a preview of one of their upcoming Black Friday deals. Complete upper with BCG and charging handle for $300

Depending on how thrifty you were with your lower, you could be into a complete AR for $400 with that deal!

One fine factory rifle there. I have 2 M&P's and they are in my opinion one of the best AR's on the market. Enjoy!

What is the law (CA) to carry an AR15 in the car, say to the range?

I keep mine in a locked hard plastic case. My ammo is in a separate bag, but not locked. Does the ammo need to be locked as well?

rifles only need to be unloaded. Doesnt need to be locked. Locked in secure container only applies to handguns and assualt weapons, IIRC.

I would still have it hidden during transpiration so cops cant see it and ask you "Do you have any weapons in the vehicle?"

California cops are notorious for confiscating firearms, even if they are perfectly legal. If they see a gun, magazine, case, bullets, or empty shells or casings, targets, clay pigeons, etc, they will most likely search your vehicle.

no lock needed. they can be in the magazine, but just make sure there's no more than 10 in each magazine ;)

Magazine can be anywhere as long as not IN the firearm.
