Truck gun ideas??

Did a search and am surprised i didn't find anything. So ive been casually keeping a revolver in my rig but am now thinking id like a real dedicated truck gun. I was wondering what you guys keep in your tacos and where are good spots to keep them. I have an 01 access cab and am trying to find good spots to keep a long gun. Maybe a better spot for the revolver also.

 

Rem 870 with 20" barrel, fits like a glove. Could add quick fists for a secure ride

 

hmm i like it! but dont think thats gonna work for me ;( i have an 01 and dont have a box like that built into mine. or is that aftermarket?

 

Ahh! Didn't realize you were 1st gen. No this is stock for 2005-2009 Access Cabs.

 

They make those gun racks that go on the headliner. Makes it hard for thieves to spot and out of the way so you can haul other junk around to.

I'm not part of the problem and the day my state see's me as such I will find a new state that sees me as the asset to my community that I am. Too many drains on society making & voting for 'safety' rules for the rest of us.

 

His set up has a lock on it, very secure

 

Wow i really like this setup. does this require much drilling into the cab or does it only use those existing bolts for mounting points?

I don't have a long gun in mine, but I carry a Glock 17 with an extra 33round mag in my truck (50 rounds total). If that can't get me and my future wife out of harms way, I have bigger problems...

I have been thinking about getting a mount for my AR that would let me mount it to the lid of my toolbox. As long as the box is secure enough to the bed that no one is going to steal it.

 

^^ ooh thats not a bad idea.. like a roof rack mounted to the lid? or homemade?

 

I like the first guys spot under the seat. I think it would pretty easy to pop open the lid on a aluminum toolbox and a AR isn't gonna be cheap to replace. If you do it that way make sure the mount is sturdy and it will lock the gun up good in it. I doubt most people breaking into cars will have bolt cutters with them.
