Great job, and well said. The red above is indicator of the type of person she is and shows this would have likely been a bad decision had she moved in. If she is willing to write off your mom before meeting her, based off of a decision you made, then she can hit the road.

If you are having second thoughts or otherwise, I think your words here explained it "we could talk about her moving in". That is not the same as "I told her she can move in". That is pretty clear in my book. That said, if you go that route it is possible you and she will break up of course.

It does sound too like you have a smallish house for all that activity.

OP I'm glad your situation worked out.

Did I miss it or did you use your mom situation to resolve your problem? If so, IMO, you really should've grown some balls and own the decision man. Sounds like you pretty much blamed your mom (a big zero on the cool scale). You either agree with your mom, your girlfriend or something in the middle but, the choice came down to you. It's your house, you didn't want her there and you just happened to have had an opportunity to pass the buck. Not saying it is (and I'm not trying to be a dick but just trying to shine light on the other side...really) but, it's almost like you're throwing a reason for her NOT to like your mother. I just don't think introducing friction between two people you care about creates a healthy environment. Makes me question now why your ex didn't like you mom.

That being said and in the same situation my mom would have come first. Only difference is, I would have just told the women "here is what I decided".

Dude I first saw that shit on some show that basically showed people with "odd" (I'm being nice) behaviors. Have you seen the show? It was on a few years ago...might still be on but, I couldn't watch it after the dude licking his car was on (first one I saw). Just way too many batshit fucking crazy people. I don't know which of the 8 billion channels it was on but, shit was weird enough to qualify for Halloween or Ripleys Believe it or not.

 

Thats where I saw it, on TLC. Not much learning on that channel anymore. I remember a girl that ate rock, one ate sofas, another ate her hair, I think the winner was the girl that ate "Comet" the bathroom cleaner had to have all of her teeth removed due to her habit

 

I'm sure you're correct on the TLC. Several of those channels were pretty good in the past and they've turned into something completely different. Are you old enough to remember when MTV actually played videos pretty much 24/7?

 

I remember the last few years of it then as I got older MTV got worse and worse.

I have come to the conclusion that to be on TLC you must either:

A) have huge family
B) Have strange habit
C) Extreme coupon
D) Dress terribly
