There is no life expectancy for parts on our vehicles; therefore, warranties are put in place when issues arise. At the point the warranty expires, the responsibility shifts from the manufacturer to the owner.

I'll be heading out that way around 9am. probably going to stop by the house and see whats going on. There were too many people there today for me to go check everything out

 

Did they just tell me to buy a new one ?!

CORROSION PREVENTION AND
APPEARANCE CARE

Protecting your Toyota from
corrosion

Toyota, through its diligent research, design
and use of the most advanced
technology available, helps prevent corrosion
and provides you with the finest quality
vehicle construction. Now, it is up to
you. Proper care of your Toyota can help
ensure long-term corrosion prevention.
to your vehicle are:

- The accumulation of road salt, dirt and
moisture in hard-to-reach areas under
the vehicle.

- Chipping of paint, or undercoating
caused by minor accidents or by
stones and gravel.

Care is especially important if you live
in particular areas or operate your vehicle
under certain environmental conditions:

- Road salt or dust control chemicals will
accelerate corrosion, as will the presence
of salt in the air near the sea-
coast or in areas of industrial pollution.

- High humidity accelerates corrosion especially
when temperatures range just
above the freezing point.

- Wetness or dampness to certain parts
of your vehicle for an extended period
of time, may cause corrosion even
though other parts of the vehicle may
be dry.

- High ambient temperatures can cause
corrosion to those components of the
vehicle which do not dry quickly due to
lack of proper ventilation.

The above signifies the necessity to keep
your vehicle, particularly the underside, as
clean as possible and to repair any damage
to paint or protective coatings as
soon as possible.

To help prevent corrosion on your
Toyota, follow these guidelines:

Wash your vehicle frequently. It is, of
course, necessary to keep your vehicle
clean by regular washing, but to prevent
corrosion, the following points should be
observed:

- If you drive on salted roads in the
winter or if you live near the ocean,
you should hose off the undercarriage
at least once a month to minimize corrosion.

- High pressure water or steam is effective
for cleaning the vehicle’s underside
and wheel housings. Pay particular
attention to these areas as it is difficult
to see all the mud and dirt. It will do
more harm than good to simply wet the
mud and debris without removing. The
lower edge of doors, rocker panels and
frame members have drain holes which
should not be allowed to clog with dirt
as trapped water in these areas can
cause corrosion.

- Wash the underside of the vehicle thoroughly
when winter is over.

The warranty for your vehicle's frame is three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first, from the April 10, 2006 date of first use for your vehicle.

Your Toyota is currently outside these warranty parameters. We have reviewed your circumstances, taking into account such factors as vehicle age and miles, especially as compared with the manufacturer’s original warranty, the type of repair, and prior maintenance and repair history. While we regret that you incurred this expense, Toyota declines your request for reimbursement.

I apologize for the disappointment you experienced with your vehicle, and your feedback about your experience is greatly appreciated.

While repairs outside of warranty are the responsibility of the customer, Toyota regrets your dissatisfaction, because you've been loyal to Toyota by your purchase of your Toyota and by patronizing your Toyota dealership.

We work really hard to put out the best cars and trucks we know how, and we strive to constantly improve every aspect of their quality. They didnt say if it passed/failed. Pretty much told me they wouldnt help beyond the 750 to buy a new truck. So im assuming it "failed"

Expensive truggy. Id buy an old cheap one if I was gonna do that

 

So what did they do then? Pretty much SOL and not give you anything because of it?

 

They did nothing... As Linwood said they gave me the big weeny

 

Wt? That's bullcrap. I'm starting to think they do this on purpose so people who have to get a new truck with the same problems like every 5 or 6 years. Well if it happens to mine, idk what I would do. Did you clean your frame a lot?

 

Steel brush + paint yearly. Underside got hosed down after every snow storm and wheeling trip

 

Oh my.. That's way more than what I do. I just pressure wash it every time I clean my truck.
