Still work great for me and that's all I care about. If you find something better please post it so people can find something even brighter.

I was making a point about how they advertise it misleadingly. As I said, I am sure they are better than stock. I'm not trying to kick you in the nuts. I put aux backup lights on my hitch, so I already have improved night visibility through the tinting and cap. I would swap in some better bulbs in the stock housings, too, if I run across them, but I don't really need them at the moment. But in general I see a lot of people running around swapping everything out to "brighter" LED or other bulbs with little regard for actual light pattern or color spectrum and the specific application in question.

Yes, that's an important improvement. When I first got my truck, I was paranoid of parallel parking at night all the time.

The led bulbs will hold me over until I'm able to get a rear bumper and install full blown auxiliary lights haha

I was thinkning of upgrading my hitch mounted floods to a pair of 6-inch LEDs I've seen on here, can't remember the name or thread now, but they have a full range of LED lamps (complete sealed housings) al the way from 3-inch square cubes up to like 48-inch bars. Because my current pilot halogens are tapped into my reverse lamp leads, which are also now feeding the trailer's LED reverse lamp through the 7-pin, I'd prefer lower amps on that circuit and brighter floods when backing the trailer in pitch-black woods.

Plate? That'd be awesome if you do a bumper with dedicated reverse light cutouts that maintain a good departure angle for you. I don't think i'll ever be able to justify a real offraod bumper

I set up aux lights on my tool box that work awesome but there is a gap of missing fill lighting where the tailgate blocks it. I have another 6 led bar waiting to be added for that filler space.

if you look at the mounts I did before the hitch, they are recessed back under the bumper, and they actually are not outside of the departure angle. You (or I) would hit the undermounted spare tire before the lights. Go take a look at my thread/gallery for a profile pic. Of course, you would probably drop off a ledge and manage to smash them...:p

Hmm, this gives some idea, but I guess I don't have a profile shot that shows it best.

im gonna count you..but not in the good tool kinda way..haha

and yea for bed light it would be good. But for normal reverse lights..they won't work as the guy above stated and i told you once before. The tail gate will block most of the light for backing up..

be simple to do. Was just a thought. Id do it if i had a stock bumper and knew id be replacing it at some point anyways. If the lights are mounted high enough in the bumper they won't get beat up.

no i think you need to think of like the cut off angle more..like yea you can't see right behind the tail gate..but your see behind it depending on your POV and such. Like the higher up you are, the closer to the base you can see..well the light is no different. THe tail gate will cut off and make a big shadow ya know? not saying it won't work still but it won't work very well i guess is my point.

and yes..i can't see it..luckly i can flash people and blind them with......

im not going to finish that sentence..

Furthermore, how often do you back in a straight line looking only out your rear-view mirror?

Using side mirrors to back and turn, and flooding the ground area where you can see wheel obstacles and shit connected to the ground like trees and posts as you back in a turn, are important.

Oh hell I'll back half a block if it is faster than turning around...

I spent college backing and combing semis all night long...

One night during a storm, I'm backing what must have been abtou the 100th trailer to the dock, and I am looking through a rain-spotted side window to a rain-spotted side mirror with my reverse lights pointed back into puddles and reflections and a dock light glaring straight back at me blinding me...so as I am flooring it in reverse and twisting that bastard in there, trying in vain to see the worn out yellow guide line on the ground, I'm thinking, Hmmm, this is just like Plato's allegory of the cave. LOL.
