Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
Yeah using the right elbow in the right spot worked fine. In the directions where it lists parts it says which side goes where. Thinking yours are reversed.

Make cuts higher than you think...test fit bumper...make more cuts if needed. You can always cut more, you can't magically put bedside back on. :D

This. The brute force is not the easiest to get a good cut on because of the plate. It is exactly like the factory bumper and uses those two little bolt on tabs that hang below the frame. I cut a little more than I should have...maybe like 1/4 to 1/2 to much. Not enough to cry about but there is a gap. The ATO is easy as pie because of how it mounts. If you want an easy installation go with ATO.

Do those only tie into the bed rail system? Only asking since I have seen guys with weight on racks like that and it cracks and warps the bedside. There is one in particular I'm thinking about, I will try and find it.

Edit - This is the one I was thinking about. Not a bed rack per se, but the same concept. Not sure if it is different since the weight would be more distributed in your situation.

Edit - Also, this is what I thought you are supposed to do when putting weight on a bed rack. (Colinb17's setup)

My bed bars weigh 10 lbs a peice and the RTT will weight 110lbs...that is about what most guys who shove a spare in a basket across some bed bars run. I am only going to run an RTT up there and feel comfortable with the setup. After having used some other bed cross bars I think I will be just fine. If I notice any pressure issues I will build a plate to distribute the weight a bit more.

Colins rack alone probably weights more than my whole setup and he tosses a much of extra stuff on his like a tire and stuff.
