After about 2-3k kilometers ran since I installed my oil catch can, I decided to empty it out. To my surprise, here's what I found:
    [IMG] [IMG]

About 275-300ml of water contaminated oil... I'd say half of it was water or maybe gas? Would gasoline mix with oil and change its color just like water do?

I did an oil change at the same time and the oil looked great.

Is this something I should worry about? Maybe cold weather created condensation?

Seems like an awful lot for condensation. What does your coolant look like?

keep in mind that should be hoked up to your PCV valve, so the water contamination i believe is normal, as that can is catching all of the water and other crap that gets blown out through that valve

Coolant looks good. Level has always been fluctuating depending on weather but it does not burn coolant.

I guess I'll see how it goes. I'm happy to suck all that water out though.

Question with you guys running these. Do you noticed that you have to top off your oil more since instead of this stuff recirculating through your engine it's dumping in the catch can?

    Nope, bonestock

I'll probably install a draining valve to make it easier next time. Looks like I'll have to empty it out 2-3 time between oil changes.

Still seems like a lot compared to what others have posted on this forum.

Are you doing a lot of short trips, where your engine doesn't warm up fully?

Yeah, About 12km(8mi) to work. Engine has time to fully warm up tho (185F with ultragauge). Maybe not hot long enough to burn the condensation.

This is the reason oil needs changed timely. Emulsion is common in cold weather climates when the motor isn't heated to temp allowing condensation to burn off through the pcv. Very common in motorcycles ridden in cold weather too.

    The better coast
Because that would cost money and the cost would be put onto the customer with a profit in mind.
