Once Upon A Time I Owned A Jeep!! Great Toy... But The Best Thing Was You Could Pretty Much Go Anywhere With It And Not Care What Kind Of Scratches, Dents Dings You Got On The Trail.

Other Than All That Was The Respect And Curtiousness You Got From Fellow Owners. You Roll Down The Road In A Jeep And You Wave Or At Least Aknowledge Other Jeep Owners. It Actually Is Pretty Damn Cool.!

Now With A Tacoma Owner Its A Stuck Up Snobby Attitude That "my Truck Is Cooler Than Yours" Attitude And I Hate It!!!! How Bout Lets Start Our Respect And Aknowledgement For Other Tacos!! Be Cool Wave.. Or Something Like That!! Try It For A Day! Its Pretty Kick Ass!

WHAT DO YOU THINK? RESPOND WITH YOUR INPUT AGREE OR DISAGREE!!!!

Nice in theory, not sure if it would catch on. I have a Jeep CJ7 so I know what you mean. All other CJ owners would wave or acknowledge one another, always. But the Wrangler crowd, well, not-so-much. My brother had a wrangler and I drove it for a while, got no where near the same respose as I did when driving the CJ.

Yea I agree. It would be nice to see a wave every now and then when you are driving around.

I've actually tried waving to other Tacoma owners. Every once in awhile I'd get a wave (with a weird look). Most of the time people ignore me or give a F U look. I wish it could be that way though.

It would be nice, but I don't see it happening. Just too many different types of drivers driving Tacoma's. Young, old, female, male, single, married...

The only time I ever received and gave a hi was when riding around on my CBR1000 sport bike. The snotty harley types of course don't acknowledge you. Now if I see anyone with a tacomaworld sticker like I have on, well then I will be waving for sure.

Just waive if you have any self respect. Just think, your driving down the road and another Taco driver waives at you and you say to yourself "That was cool" -- Start the trend ! ! !

I don't think it's snotty. I think most just don't understand why you're waving at them or it could be too that they're just not paying attention to you.

I'm not a wave initiator but I'd wave if waved to. It's not that big a deal. Don't take it personal.

Other Taco's always get my attention. It's a bad ass truck and deserves to be stared at. Sometimes I look to see if the other driver is looking my way, but seems some just dont feel the way us enthusiast due..

Hell, even those monsterous Tundra's get my attention. Toyota trucks own the road, we should all be proud of that.

You will get a quick double tap horn from me, with a head nod... Thats how us local boys from Hawaii do it...

Exactly my feelings on the subject. I have all but given up waving. Even the wife looks at me like I'm crazy. They just don't get it...

On the water almost everyone waves. It's an age old tradition that is founded more in safety than anythng else. When the captian's of two vessels acknowledge each other it signals that they are both aware of the other vessel in close proximity. This assures both captains that the other can keep or adjust to a safe course. It's also a chance for a captain to signal to the other if (s)he might be in need of assistance.

This works well on the water where speeds are MUCH slower but on the highways and byways the window of opportunity to actually wave and get a wave back to someone passing by is pretty short. I'll happily wave back to anyone I see waving to me but I havn't had it happen yet.

Wrangler owner here...and I absolutely LOVE *the wave*

    I know ya'll hate this but - "It's a jeep thing, you wouldn't understand" :D
    I couldn't resist!

Laugh... I wouldn't say that tacoma owners are snubby. Wrangler owners are snubby also. In fact, no matter what vehicle you own, there's gonna be those die-hard "mine is better than yours" attitude.

The Jeep wave has been arond for a long time. Same type of 'wave' as corvette owners & motorcycles. Not everyone waves or is familiar with the waves- they're not enthusiasts.

When I first got my 96 tacoma, I tried waving at other tacoma owners and you just don't get any response. There's just no history there ....so you can't blame 'em. Just think....you're driving along and someone waves at you - you spend the next 2 hours wondering "Do I know that person?"

Back in 05 when the truck was new and there were only of handful of us, the Tacoma wave was popular. But as more hit the road, it died out. Way it goes.
