Someone explain what's going on in this picture please.

 

Looks like a showcase for a new cv. Either long travel or just stronger since the left portion is the hub, rotor and caliper and the right is a diff.

Shit, I was looking at the picture backwards the entire time. I was thinking the left side was the diff and the right was the hub. No wonder it looked foreign

 

I swore so much changing the sparkplugs on my Bronco, even had to crawl underneath to get the last one ;_;

Nice! Any reason you went with 4.56's? I want to regear at Some point and torn between 4.88's and 4.56's.

 

i have 33's. from what i read 4.88s will have you near 3k rpm (i think it was 2.8k rpm) cruising down the freeway.

 

Yeah I've heard the RPMs are that high but 4.88's put your power back to around stock. I'm looking forward to your review once you get them installed.

 

Btw, does anyone have some cheap or free 01-04 front end parts. Hood, fenders, grill, headlights, ect? I have been reall thinking of converting to the tacoma front end ever since seeing the 4runner for sale here. Probably won't happen for a little while but I figure I can accumulate parts as I go.

Yep it's pretty badass. I need a new hood or repaint mine anyways since the clear coat is gone so I figure I could get the rest of the stuff cheap I'd go for it.

 

Hmm, if the front end is the same, do you have the same 1st gen front ball joint issues?

 

Yeah, but the Tacoma ball joints are actually different than 4runner ball joints. They are the same design, but the casting are different and can be used on a 4runner if you use Tacoma OTRE's. A bunch of 4runner guys went with Tacoma LBJ's and OTRE's because they thought they would be better since the Tacoma LBJ's are beefier looking, but all it did was reduce their turning radius.
