What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Just ordered some ProComp 16" 7032's. Can't wait to get them in. Now, anyone know what style lug nuts they take? I know they're 12x1.5 but what style? Acorn, hex? Thanks.

With a solid load in the rack, you are getting a LOT of lift.
25lbs each is 250lbs only if the load is straight up, evenly spread. Aerodynamic load is going to lift the front, and if the front clamps fail, it'll be all over very quickly with 8 more failed clamps.

I'd trust the rearmost 8 clamps, but I wouldn't trust anything shy of u-bolts for the front.

Well I think we have consensus then. I am going to have a bunch of Quick Fists for mounting other cool stuff now.

I am not sure I can do U bolts because the dimensions of the rack and where they line up with the bars. I think it would be messy.

I may have my buddy just weld in some tube spacers from the tube rack to the bottom of the angle iron.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will have to remedy this in the next couple of weeks.

 

Replaced wheel bearings and CV axles

 

installed the firestone #2158 kit for the rear air helpers. put the switch/gauge panel in the cubby mounted to the lower center dash.

Installed an ARB tire inflation kit on to my ARB compressor.

 

Discovered my front end clunk - the snap ring in my 5100 had slipped halfway down to the next groove..

 

Spacer lift ehh?

 

Snubber should have prevented that unless the shocks were too tall.

 

Did my normal Sunday cleaning

Or get some spacers under the stops, but only if they don't keep the shock from bottoming out. Sucks to build it in and then remove travel if you don't need it for clearance.
