So...I think I just realized I've been reading the wrong book the entire time for this class. :frusty:

Which I don't understand how that got messed up. In my four years at school I have never bought the wrong book and I always triple check when I go to purchase. So either the teacher requested the wrong book or somehow the book store screwed something up.

Either way I'm kind of pissed because I need to read it.

It's an entrepreneur book. "[FONT=&quot]Pearson Custom Business Resources: Entrepreneurship BUS405A and MGT340" it says.

It almost sounds like it's a school written book and there's an online text version...or maybe it's only online. I was trying to see if the library had a copy and they don't seem to. I wonder if the bookstore still has them.

The book I have is a Pearson book but it's about International Business. The class has been so unorganized so far that it didn't occur to me that it may not be the right book. -sigh-

Maybe I'll be ok without it again though...I got a 70 on the last exam (not my finest work and it was hard) but we only have two exams. They total to be 200 and the class is out of 600 so I can probably get by. I know a bunch of others in the class who haven't even bought the book (but they got like 80s on the test, probably guessed lucky).

yea hasn't stopped me..you do have to learn to drive it a bit..will seem like its going fast at first on real rocky stuff..but even regearing won't help that much for it. crawlbox really the best option there..

but i get around just fine..and weigh damn near 6000lbs..haha so its totally doable. id imagine the 255 would drive a bit different too..not sure though.

Either way, regearing at some point will be needed and very nice overall. But like you said, you can wait till you can afford it more..then slap a front locker in while your at it.

Front lockers help in certain situations..but some times don't..more of a last resort Oh Shit button haha

The ID group a year or more ago talk soooo much about wide vs skinny to the point we got into it mathematically..

the contact patterns are almost identical in surface area..its just the shape is different. Both are rectangles but orientated differently. which leads to different handling characteristics.

I have personally been in deep snow with my fats and a skinnier tire..and we both had our advantages..and disadvantages but both got stuck just a much..haha

So really..all about looks..i love the wide popped out look...obviously..ha..but thats from my car background with supras. I LOVED the staggered stance and rolled fenders on MKIIIs. translated over to my truck..

    Others like the shinnies.

Either way..both work good..pick what you like haha

i have been meaning to do a hand throttle..keep putting it off..more for winching then driving..now that i have the new ceramic clutch..i can feather it more then normal and it does it like a champ..so i don't use the brake much..

    FTFY

I'll also add a ARB when I regear, but I'm not gonna go any lower than 4.56.

Monte, will the stock elocker work with 4.56 gears? I don't know how they work so I'm working under the assumption that changing gearing affects them.

yea..thats the one thing about the 15s thats a bummer..unless i can find another way for better brakes....which im looking into..

    if not..

17s for me..as they make 35x12.5r17s..and then new SRC8s look tits...

yes still will work. changing the Ring and Pinion does not change the locker function.

also your an auto..so if you get 33s..id highly recommend getting 4.88s, not 4.56s.

    Cool. thanks guys

Monte, i have to say i'm pretty happy with my 31.6's (32's if you round up) and 4.10s, the only thing that bugs me is (i just found out yesterday morning) that when on a slight uphill grade to stay at 72 MPH the TQ converter either unlocks, or it kicks it down into 3rd, i have to stay at ~78 to keep it from doing that.

Oh, and speaking of brakes, do y'alls brakes feel good to a certain point then get really hard to push?

Regearing gets rid of that. 4.88s and you won't hardly ever down shift unless doing mountain passes.

Brakes should get hard to push..your literally are pumping fluid..with the help of the brake booster..

But it increases the HWY RPM, which most of my driving in MS will be 45 minutes on the highway (flat).

I know it should be firm, but i've never driven a vehicle where it gets that stiff :notsure:
I rarely have to brake hard enough to get to that point, but it feels weird.
And even though it's really stiff it still slows the truck down well.

Yea...and 1000lbs different...haha or more..that's why mike can't totally keep up with you at higher speeds. Which is to be expected with all the armor and gear he has compared to you.

Yea my truck isn't a dd anymore. But I did in fact dd it for over a year on 33s and a bumper and sliders. Even the bed rack for a while. Don't forget that..not like I'm not talking from experience from that..

    And get 255/85s already!! :D

Yes your rpms go up by like..400rpm or something..BUT. load on the motor is decreased..this less fuel used..rpms aren't all there is to mpgs..

And so your brakes are touchy? I don't get what your complaining about?..better to have grabby brakes then soft ones...trust me..pretty sure most people that would try and brake in Frankenstein would shit themselves with how slow it stops..compared to a stock truck it's insane.

    True

    A little touchy.
Not complaining, something just doesn't feel right to me, so i was wondering if ya'lls trucks felt like that (when they were stock-ish).
