Anybody have 2 kids / babies in car seats in their Tacoma?

I have a 3 year old and a 7 month old. Put 1 car seat in dblc at dealer today to see how much room and was a little worried/disappointed

I have one kid in a car seat in the back. He has plenty of room but I am pretty small at 5'8" so I dont need much leg room. When my brother in law has driven the truck (he is 6' 4") there isnt much room. He fits, but it is tight. My son isn't big enough yet to where his legs stick out past the edges of the car seat. I figure by the time he gets big enough for this to be an issue he will be in a booster type seat putting him back further. All in all it hasn't caused problems for me so far.

No i wouldnt be dissapointed, theres def enough room for 2 carseats in the back. I have one that stays in there all the time. to be honest you could probably fit 3 carseats in the back lol

Depends on how tall you are. I'm 6'2 and have both a rear facing and front facing seat in the back. It's crammed for me my wife and daughters (4 & 2). It's rare I use my truck with both kids in the back, but the times I do I start thinking I want to move up to a full size.

Ya, as cramped as the DC is, I think it's got more room than a Corolla back there. Definitely easier access than a 2-door Corolla!

No problem here, room actually increases as the kids get bigger - those awefull rear-facing seats are the worst, Fwd facing not too bad, and the high back booster, now thats an improvement. We put the rear facing seat on the righ side behind my wife, who's conveniently vertically challanged. I'm 6'0", no issue with the other seats behind me. Way roomier than her '01 corolla, though tight, that did work as well. Chose your car seats wisely, some are WAY too bulky with no safety improvements to show for it

3 year old in full car seat, 7 year old in booster and 60lb black lab in the back. It's tight, but it works.

Biggest issue is dirty boots on the seat backs.

I've got two front facing and a booster for my oldest back there. It's a bit tough to buckle the oldest in her booster, but it works.

The Taco fits three in the rear better than most vehicles. We ditched out minivan and had a hard time finding a replacement that would fit three across in the rear that wasn't a full size SUV.

Diono radian car seats are narrow and help a ton in our Venza. The Taco fits the two Cosmo seats and the booster.

I'll be honest with you. It is very tight back there with a rear facing car seat. I'm 5'11'' and it was extremely cramped with the rear facing behind the driver's seat. I was literally on the steering wheel. We swaped it over to the passenger side and it was still tight. My wife is about 5'6'' maybe and her knees were about two inches from the dash.
That's way to close, in my opinion, and was not worth the risk of injury from the airbags.

If we used the middle rear seat we would have been fine but we have a 4 year old as well so both seats do not like to sit side by side. Once you get out of the rear facing seat and into forward facing / booster seating there is *enough* room back there. Your rear seat passengers will keep you happy by kicking the back of the front seats.

We ended up trading our 12 double cab for a 13 rav4. SO MUCH MORE ROOM! Unless you measure width, it gets tight then.

Just keep in mind those young passengers get fussy on trips. You want to plan for an adult to sit back there when needed to calm everything down.

It's a tough call but I saw it as too much of a risk just to have a nice truck. We really liked the tacoma and have plans to purchase another one once they get better mileage. So far we are pretty happy with the RAV. It gets good mileage and does everything we need it to. There are a few things we don't care for but overall I do not regret trading in the tacoma.

If toyota could extend the rear seats about 2-3 more inches. I think there would be enough room back there to make everyone's life more enjoyable. It would then be an ideal truck for the family.

I'm 6 ft tall with a 2013 double cab 6 speed. twin 3 1/2 year old junior line backers in forward facing seats. Don't do it. I kick myself everyday for getting rid of a ford super crew.

A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.
We got this freakishly large thing for my truck, and one for my wife's car.

When we had it rear-facing the top of the car seat would ride snugly against the back of my seat (5' 11"). Now that we've turned it around the car seat sits a little more upright. My son is 3' tall, and his little feet can push against the back of mine. Time to move him to the center position.

I would run two in the back seat if we had too.

5 year old in booster seat, 3 year old in large front facing seat and 6 month old in rear facing all fit fine in the back. I'm 6' with clutch and have no problems.

I can get 3 booster seats in the back of my truck(double cab), it is very tight but they fit. So you should have no problem with getting two cars seats in the back of a DC.

I had two car seats in the back of my access cab and that was very very tight but we made it work for the odd trip here and there. Now they are both in boosters with no back and they fit in there fine, but I'm trading it in for a double cab so plenty more room for them now.

i honestly dont see what tha complaint is unless your a tall son of a gun the 2 car seats should fit. i have 1 convertable car seat, the ladys purse, alot of his toys, his baby bag (probably the size of a duffle bag) and the lady sits in the back and we have no problems.
