When the bed is loaded it squats a good bit but that because I have the stock leafs and shot rear shocks but I'm planning to get Eibach/Toytec coils and add two Chevy leafs to the pack to fix that.

Well I had a job recently at a medical machine shop but it didn't require the need of my truck but I had to quit to go to college four days a week for CNC machining. I use my truck to haul four wheelers and random things but its not a work truck so I think I'll keep it level....

Rake. I carry about 400lbs of tools daily so it settles in nicely.

I wasn't talking about your personal job...I mean the job the truck has to do. .Before I got my Toyota I had a level truck. When you load it up it had a bro squat. Now I like a little rake.

I'm with the crowd that prefers a little rake. I load up with enough gear that if it sat level unloaded I'm have major bro squat when loaded. I like the slightly aggressive look of a small amount of rake but beyond that it functions properly to keep the truck level and well behaved when loaded.

This is a little more than normal since the rear bumper is off.

with bumper on and bedrack. Squats a bit more (almost dead nuts level) with the topper on

    Rake for load hauling purposes.

Boxrocket, those 80 series wheels look great on your truck.

Explain the rationale behind lifting and bigger tires, exhaust, tint, aftermarket wheels etc. You don't need it, it just looks good.....some people like sports cars but don't use them for what they are really meant to do. They just look cool. some people just like the squat, it makes the front end look mean. so what?

Your statement doesn't entirely make sense. The rationale behind some of those modifications you name have very functional purpose for offroad use and increased capability if applied correctly and with planning. Some are just aesthetic and a matter of opinion, or poor taste, or bad judgment. Some people do poorly functional mods that they don't understand and that do not increase the truck's capability and actually damage it. Some people do functional mods even though they don't really need them or understand under which conditions they would need them, and in those cases, they are merely potentially functional mods that are de facto aesthetic mods that will lead a sad, unfulfilled existence of shame in the Walmart parking lot.

    And then there's Plastiderp.

HEY!! easy on the derp :)
I derped my rocker panels and fenders just to get some added rock-chip/heavy-brush protection and rust prevention, especially for winter, in those areas
There was, indeed, some bubbles forming on my (flareless) fenders before I did this - which was my main inspiration to do it
And yes, I'm aware getting flares (not as easy with a 95.5) and bedliner and blah blah blah would be the proper and "do it right the first time" route
Unfortunately, I'm on the "I make less than 20k a year" route
It's been around 8 months or so, and it's worked, thus-far, well-worth the $ I spent to do it
And when I do get the $ to do it right - I'll just peel the band-aid off

    Oh, by the way

    RAKE!

Level, if your not a work truck. Rake if you are a work truck. If you are a hard working work truck who gives a shit it looks like hell with all that stuff hanging off or in it anyway. If you go camping with gear, like Boone Taco said air bags unless you go camping all the time. Level.

I agree with that. I think opinion really depends on where you are from. Here in my town a ton of people have slight squat, most no more than an inch. Over that it does look kinda dumb but to each his own. Some people that have squat and haul just use airbags so its not entirely useless. I just think people on here bash it too much for no good reason. Bottom line is people want their vehicle to look good, nothing wrong with that.

Look is subjective. everyone has different tastes. From a purely functional standpoint there are reasons for rake and reasons for squat. IMO you should base your decision first based about the function you want your truck to serve. After that or if there is no specific function other than just driving down the road, then you can set it up based on the look you want, and to each his own.

I think if you set it up in the opposite order with look before function then you create problems for yourself.

Same. I like the level look better but I use my truck as a truck a lot, loading the bed up or towing stuff around. So the rake makes sense.

I would have guessed more would say level too, but I like the rake.

    Rake rake rake rake rake....

Even wheelers advised a rake when I redid my suspension. About an inch without load but with shell on. My trucks function as trucks, and I want them to look the part, particularly when loaded, which is most of the time.
