Valid point I suppose. Haha. I'm antsy for you to get yours too lol. It's going to be fun seeing the influx of bumpers posted on "what have you done to your tacoma today" thread.

Also, good luck in boot camp. My buddy just got out of the marine corps after two tours in Afghanistan. He went into it thinking it'd be a career for him but his mind was immediately changed lol. But he had a great time. Being stationed in Hawaii probably made it more enjoyable lol. For a kid raised in alaska anyway.

...but you'll be getting one that's all that counts.

The stock bumpers are so dang flimsy anyway, I've started bumping into things too... whoops/I don't care...

I've heard mixed things about the Corps, but yeah some people say fck it and get out. We've pretty much pulled out of Afghanistan/Iraq anyway, which stinks if I want to make it a career, but after my 4 years if I do want to do a full 20 years then I'll utilize my bachelor degree and become an officer so make things suck less. Hawaii, ehh.. locals hate us and everything is out the ass expensive

Not like I had much choice. It was between Elite and Relentless.

Elite is taking no more orders, and by the time he's caught up and taking orders again I'm willing to bet it would be around the same time frame. Also, Relentless was on sale which is the only reason I got a bumper.
    Eventually haha

You going to have it powdercoted? I'm trying to figure out what I want to do to mine.

Fack, see that's what I'm struggling with. I think I'm just gonna go with Rustoleum Self-Etching Primer for a base coat or two and then Rustoleum Bed-Liner for 2-3 coats.

I have that on my grill and it's EXTREMELY easy to do touch up, when you re-spray it looks like new so there's no worries about blending or having it look uneven if you re-spray.

Powdercoating would be sweet, but it costs well over $100 and what if you run into something (it's bound to happen now that you have a steel bumper ) then how would you touch it up & would it look good still? Cause you know you're gonna check it (nearly) every time you pass the front of your truck haha

Haha yeah. All good points. I've toyed around with Bedliner too. My buddy has some left over from a boat he did for a customer. It should be enough to do my bumper. I'd just have to pay him for the Bedliner and he'd spray for free.

It your friends' bed liner along the lines of Line-X, or is it thinner when applied like the rattle can stuff?

I believe he uses raptor liner but mixes a polyurethane paint to change the color of the Bedliner, and so it makes the stuff UV proof so it doesn't fade. I haven't actually seen the finish but I'm sure it's thicker than the rattle can bed liner.

Yep that stuff is thicker. I haven't seen Raptor Liner in person though so I have no idea what the texture is. Line-X would be pretty sweet but fack that's a lot of money, and then if you got a rear bumper you'd have to get em to match :D

How long is the estimated fab time for your Bruteforce bumper?

I don't know how long it takes for him to build my bumper, but the crate of 5 bumpers and a roof rack are supposed to ship the first week of January. And two of those bumpers are high clearance rears with dual swing outs. So I think he works pretty fast haha. Awesome to deal with too. I don't understand why he isn't a vendor on here yet.
