How to tell if I have been re-geared

    I am starting to wonder if the pervious owner re geared my truck. Is there anyway to tell without opening up the diffs to see. It seems to be running at a higher RPM at high way speeds than I think it should be. I will have RPMs and mph tomorrow when I hit the highway.

    Jack up the rear end and spin one of the rear wheels. Count the number of revolutions of the driveshaft versus the wheel. Factory for a 4 banger 4x4 is 4.10 so just over 4 spins of the driveshaft for one spin of the wheel.
