Could be, but sounds more like coming from the center. Like the diff. When I jack the truck up and spin the wheels, no sounds. Also nothing while driving at normal speeds. Just stop and go traffic. Not the brakes either

 

mine did exactly that, after the tire spins one full revolution it makes a noise, it went away on the drive home. maybe mud or somehing in the brakes?

I only have the gray sealer, it was $30 at one of the car shows. That stuff has to sit for 24 hours minimum but it kicks ass! For all the other stuff I been using mothers, cheaper and since I put the sealer on early the mothers seems strong enough. Just gotta reapply the sealer every summer.

Well that is odd.. If it was a wheel bearing I would have thought you could hear it when you spin the tires jacked up.. Maybe they need weight on them to make the noise?

Could it be a CV joint? Or universal?

 

sprayed the underside again....and more stuff came out.

also found a pocket of water in the Pelfreybilt bumper where the tow-hook used to be...either the gap where the stitch weld is clogged...or i'll have to drill a hole or something so it'll drain -__-

 

Don't forget that bracket we took off in the front shoot water in there too both sides

Ok this is hard work. Washed, removed swirls, polish only Galway and still need to put sealent looks like going to be a long night.

I just had my wife run me over a few times, and also drag me under the truck. Sounds more like the diff or drive shaft. It seems pretty central. Still cant quite figure out where exactly its coming from. but when it creaks, you can hear and feel it vibrate almost everywhere. Gonna pull off the skids tomorrow

my truck isn't high enough. I just grabbed onto the skid plates. Garage is smooth concrete

 

So after hitting that wall of earth on my solo exploring session, my alignment is off and my bumper moved up a little on one side. Other then that I had a blast. Cant wait for the next meet. Going to go hard in P-flats with the new gears and lockers.

I noticed my alignment is also out...slight pull to the right.

should be able to sort out my front end leveling and add another * of caster or so.

Neil- ill call toyota tomorow an ask about my leaf springs. Dakars are in the after tax return future. Along with the rest of the lift.

Nate- lets not get it twisted. Your the photographer not me. But i tried to make it like a free advertisement photo.

 

Yea brother.. I would think that your sagging leafs would be an instant change out for less than a year old. Then the trick would be to buy the Dakars quick, do a switch out, then CL the new pair that toyota gave you.

 

Make sure you get all the mud off before taking it to Toyota for inspection.

servco waipahu gave me a hard time about mine. had to put 3 of them guys in my truck and go over a speed bump. hit the bumpstops right there in the parking lot. ended up telling me they needed to get approval from a manager. told them to fuck off and bought a AAL. was pissed already. 1 hr and 3 beers later...temporary fix until dakar time.
