    Ya, we'll see.

I've told myself that with both of my previous Toyotas and my wife's Toyotas.

Ended up trading my '94 on an '03 Tundra with 225k on it, traded the Tundra on an '06 Duramax with 125k on it.
Wife had 60k on her '00 Echo when we sold it to her daughter and I bought her a new '04 Rav4.

She's got almost 140k on that Rav4 now.

I put her ass in a '14 last weekend... she liked it. Now we need a dump truck to unload $26k in our driveway :D

    Indeed, we shall see.

But, I do drive 52.8 mi to work. And we seem to keep our vehicles for a while. My wife had an 85 Camry. We replaced it with a 07 Camry. Now at 130k. I drove my first car (66 Plymouth) for 23 years. Replaced it with a little 98 F-150, now at about 296k.

Of course, more to come...
    1999 Xtra-Cab SR5 Prerunner... 3RZ-FE 2.7L 4 Banger with Automatic Transmission.

174XXX miles pretty much original minus maintenance parts (starter, belts, plugs, oil, filters)

Aside from the 22RE, my luck and experience with the Toyota RZ four banger has led me to believe it is just as indestructible as the older motors, and trust me... I do not baby my truck :p

MAYB ALL t carwashes I went thru after I get off those salted roads. Maintenance is being on top of the elements and then removing all that stuff from underneath. I use a carwash that you drive thru for only $9 and THEY have inside HEAT and a Great undercarriage wash.!!! Must work....lol

    Undercarriage wash is good.
    Heat is bad.

Heat accelerates the rate of corrosion.

The worst thing you can do for your vehicle in the winter is to drive it home on a salted road and park it in a heated garage.

I like the car washes that use pretty hot water to wash with seems like it gets the crud off better. But I dont know anything about salt and rust I live in the south.

Oh ya... heated water is good for cleaning, but you don't want a vehicle with damp salt deposits to sit in a warm room.

One of my friends used to work at a chevy dealer with a nice detailing bay, they had hot ass water in it or maybe it used steam but it would get stuff pretty clean without soap.
To bad self serve car car washes arent that hot.

yep, cleaning with hot water or a steam cleaner is a great way to do it. The heat from this dissipates rapidly and in no way does the hot water increase corrosion.

Like others have pointed out, keeping a "salted" vehicle in a warm environment accelerates the corrosion.
