I finally got a build sheet for a manual dbl cab off road, and there isn't even the option to order the ej entune. lame...it's there for the auto version, but not manual.

I'm pleased with the JBL audio in my 2013 TRD Sport. Would sound even better if the cab was insulated. I guess that's another project.

You should consider the auto. There is no advantage to the manual anymore.

Mark clearly you've been misinformed. Owning a manual not only nets lower MPG ratings it also makes the owner a man. Not just any man mind you but a man who needs to wield a velvet hammer.

the advantage to me is the enjoyment of using a clutch and gearshift.

    WeatherTech rubber mats,
I hope they have it. it would be a travesty if they didn't. the JBL system in my '12 makes me a happy man everytime wagon wheel or some bass heavy music comes on. you may be able to find it overseas with what you are asking for.

My dealer went regional looking for one to do a dealer swap so they could sell it to me without me having to travel. I looked at six or so, and picked the white one with everything (except floor mats, lol--I wonder if that's another not-with-a-stick-not-an-option...you might check, although the Weathertechs I put in are much better...but I'm getting off track...) and none of them I saw had JBL. Not a big deal to me, six speakers in a small mid sized vehicle is a-plenty and the sound is quite good. You can always drop some Pioneers or Kenwoods with better in the doors if you're like I was when I was in my early 20's, for much less than the JBL's they probably use. If a dedicated subwoofer is a must-have...eh...no accounting for taste :) That being said, can someone shed some light on exactly what changes with JBL? Different header? Amplifier(s) too? Just the sub and JBL speakers?

Yeah, I think at this point I'll be cool with the standard system. I'm not willing to drive an automatic in exchange for a little more bass.

I think that's a good call. It's easier to drop in all or part of a new system (if you have to) than R&Ring the tranny and if you're set on the manual you may never be happy with the truck if equipped otherwise.

I understand the concept of certain manufactures when building a product (keeping the variations lower) but it would be nice to have the ability have better OEM tailoring. Tailoring is not a strong trait for most Japanese manufactures and from what I've been seeing over the last several years others are moving in the same direction.

    Too few to list.
Going out of topic here but like I said before, I had the 6speed and it was ok as it was a truck and not a sports car. Have you driven the 6speed? I immediately replaced my trans and t-case fluids with Redline MT90 and it made a difference but the 6speed had a notchy feel to it. The clutch pedal squeeks when cold and the clutch chatter when cold/start up. Once warm it was normal. At around 26K-30K. My clutch developed a whirring sound. It was the shaft the t/o bearing slides on that was made of aluminum. This is why URD develoved the t/o bearing shaft sleeve. These are all known issues with the 6speed. On top of all that, there were TSB's for the clutch as people have had them come apart or wear out abnormally. So I didn't want to spend the $700-800 in parts to make my almost new $30K truck drive the way it should. That and I needed a long bed for my use so out with the 6 speed and replaced with the auto. Yeah the auto is boring but driving in traffic is no longer a task and get better mileage to boot. I missed having a stick shift so I bought a first gen instead. Best of both world though my wallet hates me for it. I hope they fixed the clutch issues with the new trucks.

I've driven both 6 speed and auto of this truck, and really can't stand the auto. yes the manual isn't as smooth as a honda trans, but it still does the job. my 1st gen manual doesn't feel any better...actually worse considering the heavy clutch.

    thanks for the info!

I could almost guarantee I would get worse MPG with a stick. With the enjoyment of the upshift and downshift at higher RPM's I would average a higher net RPM all the time hence the more MPG.:(but yes it would be fun.

Any you just the mention of some sort of ghey velvet hammer should contribute to you having to turn in your man card.:D:cool:

But clearly you have not stated a REAL advantage.

To me the stick is a disadvantage when towing a trailer and when going 4x4 off road/rock crawling.
