    Welcome! We usually use CBs to communicate on the trails. If you don't have one yet don't worry about it. Do u plan to come to rausch?

    What area of NNJ are you from? The TA truckstop in Columbia has more cb stuff then you could ever use.

    Rightchannel radio always has good deals. Sign up for their e-mail newsletter.

    They are also one of the best sources for good info on CB's.

    SON OF A BITCH

    Took me 4 hours or so to install my CB and i sat on the mic and keyed it up without an antenna.... after all was said and done

    It was only keyed for 2 seconds at most and the RF was all the way down, so was squelch. Any chance that I DIDNT fry the finals? my SWR meter is coming thursday so I can check SWR, but i can still hear people, but its impossible to get a good signal right in the middle of a city...

    :confused::mad:

    you keyed in without an antenna? it's a specific set of internals that it is supposed to destroy

    He don't read ur posd so wel

    "An antenna is the interface between the radio and space. If the antenna isn't "matched" to the radio energy that is flowing into it, it can't pass all of that energy into space, and some of that energy returns back to the radio. That returning energy can't go anywhere, so it ends up being transformed into heat which very quickly cooks the output transistors."

    Sweet deal on the skids. I drove 3-1/2 hrs to MD for my BB Gas skid and paid more.

    I'd also say it 'should' be OK. It might not be though.

    Either way only way to tell is to hook it up and use it. :)
