No doubt about it. Gm is selling cars and trucks right now by adding the frills that the mainstream public likes. They are going to have to do a lot of work to get people to forget about the horrendous Colorado reliability.

I won't touch a Chevy cause I haven't forgotten about the last Chevy I owned
In fact, that should probably keep me good the rest of my life

Edit: I'd still consider buying a pre-90's Chevy

    I will say this.

    I like the exterior.
    I like the interior.
I like the ammenities shown in the pictures.
I Loved the new full size whe I drove it a few weeks ago.

    I hate the Chevy Name.

The only problem Chevy will have is overcoming its horrible reputation.

If the exact same truck was branded the new Honda Ridgeline, there would be more trouble.

I also bet in the Colorado takes quite a big share of the midsize market. Domestic guys are all over, as well as people that look for deals. This truck will no doubt come cheaper than the Tacoma, and have more standard features.

You can already see heated mirrors/heated and cooled seats/nicer navigation/boxlights/tow haul mode/projector (assuming HID) headlights all in a few pictures.

And with engines rated wigh more Hp and more MPG...

    4cyl - 193hp 184 torque - 22 city 32 highway.
    6cyl - 302hp 270 torque - 16/23 mpg.
diesel - 185hp 350 torque - and even more MPG.

    definately a great selection.

That red z71 version looks great IMO.

I know plenty of people that buy vehicles based on options and features. So if you can get an upgraded Colorado for tbe same price as a base tacoma it will sell plenty. Also have the people that would rather walk then be caught dead in a toyota.

I'm sold. This will be my next truck. Just have to decide between the pentastar V6 or the turbodiesel. Will have to wait to see what the EPA ratings end up being. Interior is simple and functional, looks good.

I'd rather walk than be caught dead in that thing. I'm not sure why someone "would walk then be caught dead".

Thank god someone finally got it into their noggin that a small diesel in a midsized truck is a good idea. Honestly, I want this truck to severely hurt the Tacoma sales... then maybe Toyota will actually update the old thing :D

    Nothing yet, brand new!
I'm happy as hell to finally see some competition back in the small-midsize truck segment. After Ford killed the Ranger it was Toyota and Nissan and lately it seems Toyota couldn't care less.

I've had more little nagging issues and one large one with my 2013 than I ever had with my old Tacoma.

It seems more and more that the "new" GM is on the right path. Good materials, good fit and finish and racking up numerous awards. They are emulating the "old" Toyota.
Meanwhile current Toyota is heading down the path of "old" GM, sales volume at expense of quality and customer first principles.

I hope everyone realizes that the 2.5 and 3.6 are car engines that stupid GM stuffed between the fenders of a truck. Do you notice the horsepower on the 3.6 I'd way above the tq? Ummmm yeah, no. This little girly truck only has one decent engine and that's the diesel and we don't know the fuel economy or hp/tq numbers yet. I'm glad the GM boys finally have something to wet themselves over though. Have fun towing with those engines that can be found in moms Malibu and Equinox.lol

The US will never see an influx of mid sized trucks. Auto manufactures know we like to spend 45k on a full size because its roomy, looks cool, and can stuff extra dry goods in it from our trips to Costco.

Just a couple of comments. While the last version seemed to be less then acceptable, you can't compare the new version to the old, total re-design and new engines. Also keep in mind that competition is GOOD. If this turns out to be a reasonably nice reliable truck (if....), then it will help Toyota realize that it needs a major re-design of the Tacoma instead of all these minor styling changes to a 10 year old platform.

BTW, I'd like to see some pics of the low end Colorado. It's easy to make the high-end model look good, what about for the majority of buyers....

Most of taco owners are very happy about their truck reliability, I just want to be excited driving it. I get it most use it for work but nothing wrong about using for play going to work. V8 supercharged dual exhaust with all the bells and whistles makes driving to work fun. Like driving f150 Harley Davidson to work with reliability and yes I did have 2 f150s their reliability sucks after 160k km / 100k miles. Tacos are bland right now
