I told my friend about this thread. He is one of those die hard doubters. So we had a good discussion about ghosts and all, and when I get to work this morning, this is in my inbox.

    Discuss...

Only the gullible and those that have mandates to substantiate the after-life believe in ghosts and the paranormal. Ghosts are simply wishful thinking and a convenient excuse for explaining ‘what goes bump in the night.’ Proving ghosts are a man-made psychosis is in-fact very simple.

1.) Ghosts come in one form – that just happens to be human - which is conveniently what we bipedal-chimps want to see, and not say a dead cow hovering at the end of ones bed. Have you ever heard of the legend of oceans being haunted by ghostly plankton?

2.) Ghosts just happen to be nocturnal, preferring night-time to ‘do their thing’. So when you die you suddenly become adverse to daylight – right?

3.) Like the popular bug-eyed Aliens, modern ghosts are all stereotypical, with the same looks and characteristics. The standard ghost or spectre in China is that of a Chinaman. The standard ghost in an Inuit community resembles the locals and not a six foot six black-man.

4.) Purportedly ghosts have the ‘magical’ capabilities to travel through walls, levitate etc. Powers they didn’t have when they were alive. They move objects all the time – but never get behind the wheels of a car and drive, type a letter on a computer or light-up a Bensons and Hedges. When it comes to interacting with humans all ghosts want to do is scare the shite out of the living in the dead of night or flash their tits at us in photos. Aimless activity, no-one has been able to detect with any surety.

5.) Ghosts are allergic to large crowds. ‘The Ghost of Super Bowl’ or ‘The Ghost of F.A Cup’ – I don’t think so.

6.) Ghosts love hotels and pubs. When you die you head immediately to ‘your local’ for a pint. How else could you explain the disproportionately high number of pubs that are haunted? And it’s always old pubs that act as magnets to the living dead, rather than a Five Star Hilton.

7.) If you can walk through walls why don’t you simply drop through the floor as well?

8.) Why aren’t all ghosts totally naked?

9.) Seeing that potentially we living-humans share the planet with 60 billion spirits, comprising all of humanities dead – where do these hordes of living-dead spend their time? I mean where do they live? Caves? The bottom of the ocean? The stratosphere? Six to a house?

10.) Last but not least – there is not a shred of evidence.

Much like the existence of a god. But people will believe what they want.
There could even be undeniable proof that there is no such thing as god or ghosts but there will be people that still believe.

I see your points. Here's my little 2cents (not a rant, and not trying to sound redundant) Another post you mentioned some people need to grow thicker skin. I'm not sure who specifically you may have been talking about. Maybe I was included, because I have had some reaction to "two" people. If I was included in that, I'd just like to say I have thick skin, believe me, I do.

Yes this is a public forum (altho you have to be a member to participate, then there's some rules and to me a code of being cool to people, with out saying). And I guess I just out of having respect or trying to for others hope for the same without asking. Have I said somethings in a heated way, a little. But only after those couple jumped right in the thread in an obvious way of trying to "taunt" people and stir up stuff. I know that I'm not the only one reading the post's a certain way, when others are picking up on the same attitude that I am, by replying like they did. The second started then just copying and pasting stories from who knows where (which I didn't bother reading), I'm sure trying to piss me off, after all he said "be prepared". Along with some other comments.. Yeah later he apologized, we moved on. Blah blah

Believe me I'm all about jokes and having a good time etc. But sometimes things come off as being childish. I also try to take into account how things are taken by reading them vs someone's personality as if you were talking to them in person. Which I'm sure at least to a degree would be different.

I want to be cool with all of TW members, but if somebody starts bs with me, I'll probably have something to say about it, especially calling me a liar, which I'm not.

Last but not least I didn't start this thread as a place for people to post their stories then have to try and argue with a non believer or just someone trying to start something, to try and prove what they're telling. I just felt it would be an interesting topic, having had things happen during my life I can't explain. I knew there would be others come forward too.

Questioning someone vs. trying to evoke an argument or two different things, keep in mind. I don't believe we're idiots, people know what they're doing.

Anyway I'm glad a lot of you like the thread.

Looks like some paranormal activity is happening in this thread. I didn't even catch that one but that looks like it was taken from Redcoat.

Thanks for the reply, Guerilla. I think that what's happened in this thread is pretty much like all internet/text/emails/what have you - sometimes it is hard, if not impossible, to tell the true meaning of a message unlike face-to-face meetings. Unless someone outright says something like "you're a liar," calls names, etc., it is really hard to tell the true meaning of their message. Some who say things meant to be funny come across the wrong way. I will always call BS on something I see to be too outlandish or made up. But I will do it in a way as to not be troublemaking.

But, this is an awesome thread with some great posts!

Quit putting shit up from your racist friend.

I've heard stories of ghost animals...horses, dogs, even old pet birds.
There are famous hotels(5star) that report activity.
    Ghosts do appear naked.
Not everyone who dies turns into a ghost, obviously.

Also, I argued with some guy because he didnt like my opinion about something. So, whatever, people are always gonna disagree over something, we can just do it in a civil way......or try.

Hey now, my friend isn't racist. I just put up his message to me because I thought it would actually lead to somewhat intelligent convo - but I forget this is the 'net... (sorry J88, your response about air on the last page was awesome).
