    I don't know, I was going to close it off soon since it's pretty quiet.

    Good news boys! My supplier has upgraded me to a harder steel than I was originally using. This has more strength per thickness, so strength will be even better than expected!
    :woot::woot:

    Same price too. And it's Murican!

    He told me and I verified it, but now I forgot what it was. He kind of caught me off guard between classes. 1018 steel I want to say but I'm not confident.

    I may be kicking myself on this one... I just bought a 99 4Runner to build as an off road rig and need a set of skid plates. I didn't cut any extras. Oh the dilemma!

    Wut? No extras? Thought for sure you engineers would plan for rainy days. Probably not too late to call the vendor. It's not like they are going to knock this out in a flash. With the upgraded steel, might want to keep a few extra sets on hand for future sale if funds allow. It be easy money maker fee sure

    OP, I read in the other thread that you do not recommend powder coating. Do you have any one local to you that can coat the plates with bed liner?

    I'm guessing you saw my reasoning too then. It's hard to touch up scrapes. I can do bedliner, I will check on pricing. Probably about the same I would guess. Otherwise herculiner roll on bedliner works great and is easy and cost effective. I did my front and rear bumpers.

    I was thinking about getting line-x on my original skids and the line-x guy actually talked me out of it. Rational was that skids are there to help you slide over/off of obstacles. The line-x actually defeats that purpose (ever try to slide something into a line-x'd bed).
    So I just rattle canned them and will do the same on this last piece.

    damn it! I powder coated my sliders...it was free so i said what the hell! was gonna have my pops PC the front skid plate, guess Ill just stick to bedliner in a can, or that rubberized undercoating, that stuff works great too. Any objections to those two Ryan, or should I just use regular rattle can paint?

    Y'all can paint them with whatever you see fit, I'm no expert in paint. I paint my stuff with a foam roller. Buy a quart of metal primer and a quart of paint and go to town. It fast and easy to get good coverage. And cheaper than a bunch of spray cans.

    Yeah, let me know about the cost of that please. I am a rec level off roader so I don't plan on putting those sliders though too much torture.

    Hey, you can't beat "free" may it be PC or BL. That's the best possible deal you can get.

    Make me a skid plate for my 2010 Tundra!

    The stock one has taken a couple hits and doesn't look that pretty anymore...
