Don't buy this expecting to prep two axles and cutting a lot. Had the blade burst off exploding the plastic. Good thing I had my hands close

Did you expect a $20 sawzall to hold up to a real job? IMO most of those tools are disposable or for the old guy who just wants tools to fill his collection he never uses(my grandfather).

A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.
Read them all every day unless I miss a few days worth, then they get skipped.

Cheap tools are stupid, and wasting money on them is ignorant. Buy a tool made by Americans that you can pass on to someone else or make money back on resale. When will people learn? You are just burning money on garbage tools.

read em all, usually on break at work.

I'm guilty in some ways of cheap tools, but those are for things I just need for a household job once in a while. For instance, I bought a cheap wet tile saw only to do flagstone in my hallway/dart room. If I'm buying something I will use more often or cannot afford to have break (this is rare), I'll spend the extra frogskins.

i agree most of the time, but i still buy "disposable" tools from time to time depending on what they will be used for. For tools i use everday i never buy from home depot or lowes. I swear by makita tools, but the ones home depot sells are not the same quality. For example my toolbelt and hammer alone cost over $500 combined.

I have a vast amount of tools. I am very fortunate to be able to buy tools i need. And 95% of the time i agree with you. But there are definately times when i need some special tool to do one job and don't want to buy an expensive tool. Even if i plan on selling it i will lose money. So i buy a cheap one, just to get the job done. Most of us are not made of money, have mouth's to feed or whatever. So i think it is ignorant to say we are ignorant to buy cheap tools.(Once in a while) Don't think i would buy 3 of the same cheap tools , but we all have our reasons. I'm down with that!!

How many times have you guys searched CL for the tool you needed once or twice? Seriously, I've used shit tools purchased on the very same premise as stated above, and the result is shit work. After years of home improvement and vehicle repair I refuse to buy junk anymore. If I can't afford to buy it, I'll find it on CL or borrow it. A good example is the dormer job we just did; had to borrow an extra 200' of air hose and a roofing gun.

I agree with you to an extent... Tools I plan to use and keep, I spend the money to get quality tools. My ratchets and wrenches are a an example of this. I'm an average home owner but do all my own work so I buy the Harbor Freight tools. There's no reason for me to blow $7-800 on a nice compound saw when I can get one a HF for $100. If you're a contractor, sure, get high quality tools because you use them every day and need them to make your money. II bought top of the line every time I needed a new tool, I'd be broke and never have any money left for the actual project. Just my $0.02.

During your lifetime as a homeowner you'll never be done, and that one compound mitre saw will be much more valuable than you think. Same goes for a drill, hand tools, etc. think long term brother- you're young and doing some projects now, but is this the home you'll die in? Is the renovation finished?
