    5' is reasonable though….
    my property is 100x200 meaning that a 10x16 shed at 25ft from prop line would have been almost in the middle of my yard… ridiculous!

    there is alway the option to fight a variance!!!

    Yea, it's ridiculous. I was looking at putting in an 8' x 10' shed earlier this year. Zoning told me it has to be a minimum of 25' from any of my property lines. I asked how that is possible when I have one of the largest lots in the neighborhood and it's only 50' x 100', not to mention my house is in the middle of it. She just looked at me and said "good point, I guess it doesn't have to be".
