Does anyone else notice a small squeak (almost a chirp) when you first press down on the brakes? It only lasts a second, but seems to happen every time, whether I just lightly tap it or give it more foot. It sounds like a hydraulic part sliding against a seal, but the last time I dug into a braking system it was a 1984 Ford F150. I'm debating whether to take it in and ask the dealership about it, but I wanted to know (at just under 800 miles) if it was normal or maybe a break-in (ha, unintended pun) issue... Thanks for any guidance.

I'd say it's fairly broken in...

But there is a TSB out for previous years that involves squeaky rear brakes...might be a good thing to look into if it persists...

Are you referring to the brakes themselves or the brake pedal?

My brake pedal makes that little hydraulic-ey sound as well...Pretty sure its normal.

Same here my brakes make the same noise near the brake pedal region. Like a quick slurp from a straw or whatever. My brakes function as they should. The 13 4Runner I drove did the same thing.

It's when I tap/press brake pedal during that first mm or so of pressure; sounds like it's coming from under the hood. It sounds like some sort of actuator moving maybe...

I also have squeeky back brakes on my 2013, but I cannot find any TSB for it...
Can you point me in the right direction?
    I can only find 2 TSB's

My 2013 made or makes that sound. Noticed it when I first got it. I think it finally goes away. But then again, I have the stereo up all the time.

Oh well. Thanks for the responses. I'll just deal with it for the time being.

Bit of a let down having squeals off the lot (apart from my billfold), but otherwise I'm quite happy with the truck.

The master cylinder is making the noise, it's irritating at first, but you'll get used to it.
