Got my V2W amber/white/amber in the mail last night and installed in 10 minutes. Looks fantastic! Love the way it dims with the dimmer control. Plenty of light for the console. Very nice OEM look.

 

Are you still offering a discount to TW members? I'm ready to pull the trigger, but if I can save a buck or two...

So how hard is the "crimping" honestly. I'd love the hard wired version but know nothing about electrical wires. Any insight? Tips? Thanks!!

 

The real difficulty is having the right tools... If you have a good pair of pliers, you'll be fine. See www.flyzeye-designs.com/installation.html for help.

We would advise, if you have zero experience doing this type of install, you might consider the V1 - no tools required.

 

Is it possible to turn the V2 off or is it always on when the lights are on. Just curious about this. Just saw another thread about you installing this on someone's truck and started checking out your products. I thin k I will be ordering soon. Great product.

These look like such a great idea!!! I found these by searching for lighting for my footwell (which by the way is still a great idea for you guys to develop).
I like the idea of the automation with the V2W. I have done some audio install for friends and family and I personally prefer not to have my head units dimm when the lights are turned on. Can this also be avoided with the V2W by simply not connecting the dimmer wire to the dimmer circuit? And if so, are there still manual dimmer functions like with the V1?
Also, the OCD side of me is very hesitant in cutting the OEM panel. Is this small cut visible with the HVAC control panel back in place (without the light bar installed)?
A lot of questions there, and I hope they all make sense!

 

I didn't cut. I just kinda shoved it in there. Been working fine. You could probably find another wire back there that comes on with the engine, that wouldn't dim with the dash, but another that comes on with the lights is not likely.

 

We have found that using a rat tail file works really well for the cut work - very clean. Also, if the unit is removed, the HVAC control panel will cover the cut.


There are other wires that will function as a power-only facilitating on-board (TSDC) dimming but still powered by the vehicle.

Are the 3VP-RS V1 the center console lights? The website only spot lights the TCMAS so Im assuming the 3VP are center console or glove box? I wish I would have saw this before I purchased some cheap LED strips and did my own lol
