Hearing jamz like on the old school lunch hour always provide a good wtf moment

'spensive but makes a difference. This along with the Wet Okoles have made drives 10 times more enjoyable (which I didn't think could happen before)

I feel like wet okoles alone bring an updated look to the first gens. I would love to do something like that (the deadening) but have no garage in which I can tear apart my interior.

I've been told that dynamat or raammat won't do much for the floor pan because the floor pan is already really stiff as is.

Dynamat's function is to stiffen up panels that vibrate a lot (eg the rear wall, inner and outer door skins, etc)- which make noise resonate.

To truly cut down on road noise from the floor pan, you need to cover it in mass loaded vinyl or the likes.

    Curious to see your results.

    great demonstration

Another HUGE difference is if you bang your fist on your outer door panel before and after deadening.

Before it sounds like a huge timpani drum. After it's a short thud.

So I just went to Frys and picked up an SWR to tune my cb. Only thing is it didn't come with another 6" or so of cable to go from the radio to the meter.

Definitely! Took me 4ish hours to strip everything out, an hour for vacuuming/clean up, 2-3 hrs to lay the Dynamat & then 3-4hours to get it all back together. Not including the doors.

Agreed w/ your earlier post & the floor boards. HUGE differences from the rear panels, the rear bench w/ the video above especially if someone's running a subwoofer, and then the front doors. I added a bunch of foam to the rear panels, thought that would help.

I'll get a before/after video of the music comparison with one door deadened & the other stock.

Here is a video of the sound comparison, driver side has Dynamat, the other side does not. The difference is without a doubt more noticeable in person; the highs aren't as scratchy, and the mids have more depth to them-- well as much as you're gonna get with the speakers I have & the Dynamat Xtreme helping out:

... oh and then she showed up while I was airing my tires and hopped on my shoulder waiting for a peanut:

Is that really a wild squirrel that shows up to be fed?

    Yes

and yeah. Basically our lab died in the spring, I was at school so my Dad got bored from it being lonely around the garage/house with the dog gone and started feeding the squirrel. Being shy at first, she now comes around and climbs up on me waiting for a peanut. No way on gods green earth am I going to try and pet it though... especially with it on my shoulder that close to my money maker ;)

Can you take a pic of how you mounted it? I had mine on the left of the steering column but the heat caused the adhesive to come off and I just removed the whole thing.
