    Hey guys,

I am a little late on getting this thread started but here it is. My wife's cousin has a 12 year old son named Sammy. On Sunday November 10th Sammy was involved in a pretty bad crash during the last round of the NLMX series at the Aztec motocross track in Aztec New Mexico. From My understanding is he came up short on a double that threw him from the bike. The bike then came back over on top of him. Sammy was attended to the paramedic on site, and then was life flighted by helicopter to San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington, where he was kept in the ICU until a little before midnight and a executive decision was made to fly Sammy to the UNM hospital in Albuquerque, where he remains in the ICU. Sammy sustained a compound fracture to his left humorous, broken ribs, a puncture lung which caused internal bleeding, swelling around his other lung and heart, as well as bleeding and severe swelling of his brain.

The update for 11/12 was Sammy is currently on life support in an induced coma, breathing only 10% on his own, however, the internal bleeding caused from the punctured lung is now fixed. They drilled into his skull to put the brain swelling sensor in, and will continue to monitor that today, and because of the extreme swelling his brain has undergone, he isn't able to move his lower half.

As of Last night Sammy is making huge strides as far as improvements goes! He is still in a coma, but the brain monitor has been removed! He is moving his right arm like crazy! Any movement in our eyes is great!!! He is going in for an MRI tomorrow and when those results come back we will know more on his improvements in general. Keep the prayers coming! Sammy is a fighter, which has been acknowledged by the entire UNM hospital.

I am sure there are some updates that I have missed but it has been pretty stressful for the family. I am not sure how Face Book works since I have never had one but my wife sent me the link to his prayer page. If you guys could share a prayer or in the case of some of you athiests a happy thought that would be awesome and much appreciated. I will put any updates I get here.

Here is the Face Book Link: Also a Few Pictures

Thanks everyone for you good vibes and prayers.

MRI revealed that his bleeding of the brain has stopped as well as his seizures. He is also breathing more on his own and relying less on the ventilator.

Hate to update with something like this but.........
My cousins son really needs your prayers this evening. The neurologist doesn't believe that Sammy will ever recover. Never walk never talk and told his parents today that there isn't any hope for him. Please, please say a prayer for him. Please have hope!
