Yeah, I'd like the 240's but they're just too big for my taste.

That's kind of why I did it, to see how far I've come in less than a year...

I have way more light then that guy..that goes farther..and cost probably less then 1/4 of that..and..pretty much 360º of light...

Stuipid..i don't get peoples hard ons for LED bars..they aren't that efficient at that size..only thing they have on halogens or HIDs is long life..pretty much it.

Yeah, pretty much why I doubt I'll get a light bar. Only led's I'll get are for fogs, rock lights, and reverse lights.

I've been trying to link stuff and change all of my pics to the clearer one off of Flickr...
Very true. But HID's do well at low power draw. Not quite as well though.

    no they don't..

    a 240w bar..still pulls 17-20 amps..

and still doesn't go as far as a 100w LF240 or 55w HID converted light..which..is pulling less power..

Gotta look at the math man..when you put..20 10w LEDs in a bar..still pulls 200w..or 30 5w LEDs..or whatever it is these days..

that guy you posted above i bet is pulling MORE then i am..

    Hmm, very true...

Monte, are your LightForces HID, or is it just your 4 roof lights? Trying to decide between getting some 170's Halogens or HID's for spots....
    Yeah, is definitely a lot!

I can't decide if it's worth it or not to switch to HID's..

HIDs do way better when you look at the performance you get out em in a 6-8'' housing..kicks the shit out of any light bare.

Lumens don't mean dick in lights. You need to look at the Lux measurement..which you have to dig for. Its a marketing thing. Big numbers impress people so more lumens is somehow better..

Ridgids top LED bar only gives 1 lux at 700m. 1 lux is basically enough light to read something.

    240?...1200m for 1 lux..Oh..and thats for a 35w HID..haha they have a 50w HID..probably 1400-1500m at 1 lux..

    mine a 100w halogens.

just the roofs are HIDs. When i had the HIDs on front they were great. But i like how the halogens turn on with no warm up time.

best "bang for buck" is a Hella 1000 or 3000 converted to HID. or even 500 if you don't want a 7-8.5'' light

But really, you won't be disappointed with either i think.
