How about use of the stock AUX/USB ports mounted in the center lower dash?

 

Gonna need something to turn the amps on and decifer the data stream from pad to amps still

As for those aux ports, my Taco didn't have those but I would imaging if you plugged something in there it would work, but no info would display on the iPad. Just like if I stream music from my phone via bluetooth. It plays because it's connecting to the cd deck but no info displays on the iPad.

 

What was the model of metra dash kit you used? The model I got I don't think will work. Maybe your a magician but I must check the model you used first to confirm wizardly status or not.

You can tell from the before/after pics I posted when I cut it up

 

So after you cut it to the right opening dimension you did a fair amount of glass work on it correct? This will be my handicap

So I tried having the music playing and opened up maps, it worked just fine
