North - what regulator are you using for the ORI?

 

ORI single fill kit from Jerry, it shipped directly from ORI. He ordered it with a 1000 psi gauge but it showed up with a 600 so definitely go big on the gauge as you know our uppers are taking well over that. Picked up a Helicoid 2000 psi gauge to put on the manifold just waiting for it to show up.

But which regulator do you use in your tank? When Jerry and I filled mine his regulator on the tank was limited to 600. Been looking for the right size regulator to get. Sounds like a 1500 would be enough.

 

Not using a regulator, I went to Napa and had them build me a 24" hydraulic line and scavenged parts from a welding regulator to go directly to the tank. I plan to get a regulator but this works for now.

New 0-2000 gauge showed up yesterday, checked and adjusted the upper chambers today setting them @ 720 driver and 700 passenger. It looks like the old gauge I was using was 150 to 200 psi off so I'm guessing that is why my original settings seemed so high. I set the lowers with the 600 psi gauge and they were dead on @ 100 so I did not make any adjustments to them. The more I drive on the ORI's the better they feel and seem to work.

 

Ran down the street from the house and flexed the truck, I'm pretty stoked everything seems to be working really well. Sorry the pics are a little dark.

How close were you to bottoming out the kings in that one shot? It looks really stuffed! Just curious how much of the shaft was left?

 

About an 1" maybe a little less, you can see where my tire spun that was in 2wd then put it in 4lo to get it to the point I shot the pic. I still have my steel wheels w/34's in the bed so it has a lot of weight back there for traction but 2wd amazed me. I can't wait to go crawling with the new set-up and see how it does.

Thanks, my buddy said I could bring it down to his shop and use the forklift to flex it so maybe we can do that tomorrow.

Jerry's kit is awesome, I would recommend it for sure. Did you get your FJ case and crawlbox?

 

Picking up the t-case next Tuesday.
I spoke with Wyatt earlier this week and he says the crawlboxes will be available early next year.
No problem there - I've got more parts to gather anyway.

 

Cool, I did my set up the same way FJ case then added the crawler later after the disaster in Japan we had to wait months to get the 4.7 cut gears.

I was reading that in the RST forum... Now there seems to be an issue w/ the inchworm adapter plate. He says their going back to the original Marlin plate. I got to drive Anthony's truck which is also a 6spd MT and it blew me away.
I crawled up a +45* angle in 1st gear w/ compound low steering with one finger.
But I'm not telling you anything you don't already know.

 

The crawler is awesome its one of those things that makes it like cheating.I think Larry is having issues with his sounds like there is an oiling/bearing issues with the Inchworm adaptors. Guess I lucked out having the 5 speed, since I have the Marlin adaptor and have never had any issues.
