I got that covered I run a 12" drop hitch so the boat will hook up no problem.

Man that's a cool truck you got there. I like that front bumper you whipped up, it's sweet!
The spare carrier you're doing is cool too, what kind of hinges are you using on it?

Its just 3/4" x.120 wall DOM with a 1/2" bolt and tabs welded on the rack.

I thought the lower part of the mount would lock into the hitch.

Can't wait to see it complete. I have to admit I am intrigued by your idea. Not to mention it's uniqueness.

No im going to have a rubber bump stop in the hitch the toggle clamps will clamp to the rack itself.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
So, that Supercharger is working well for you, Jerry?

Rusting away on the back of my truck. I started mocking up the gas springs last night. The location i was going to put them just wont lift the swing up. I'm going to try other locations i might have to get stronger springs.

Not the most cost effective way :)

I'm setting up the carrier to mount 4 shocks in the location that works for the rack just so I can pull it off the truck and powder coat it before it rusts away. I just ordered a set of 250lb gas springs those should do it if not I'll add the 90's as well. There is a lot of leverage on the springs where I can mount them a hell of a lot more then I thought the 2 90's would not even fully lift just the swing up add a tire and it wasn't going anywhere. This way with the 4 mounts for springs I can add up to 1200lb of force if need be
