hey guys, found a great deal that i just don't think i can pass up. Total chaos 3.5 kit (2005+) and i want it! My concerns are as follows...

    1. Uniballs have a small amount of rust, will i have to replace these?
    2. The piece that the lower uniball sits in and connect to the spindle has surface rust.

Other than these issues, everything is a little dirty but straight, and all welds look good! Shocks are also included, and I'm thinking i should rebuild them. Price for everything... $2500!!!!

What do you guys think? Thanks in advance!

(the arms are dirty, that is not rust)

doo it, for that price it's really good:cool:. uniballs are cheap and easy to replace when arms are off the truck. and uniball adapters will clean easy then, you can paint them to protect them too. just a lil maintenance and it'll be like a brand new kit again. rebuild, uniballs, a lil paint

Not unless you make custom spacers to fit the adapter into the double sheer....sell the spindles to me :spy:

haha i saw you were looking for some, but like you i want to keep the preload off the shocks, and i don't think i would clear my 315's. Can you elaborate on the spacers?

You'll also have to get TCs new heimed uppers with the bend in the arm in order to run spindles . Other wise it throws off you're alignment somehow . That's what I was told by Total Chaos

that shouldnt happen considering the geometry is the same as a stock spindle just raised 4 inches. plus you still have the lower cams....plenty of people run tc with camburg spindles.

the lower uniball adapter is thinner than the stock bj adapter, so it needs spacers under it to fit snug in the spindle.

Yea I didn't understand why it wouldn't work either :/.If I remember correctly TC said I would need to keep my preload at 3" to get a proper alignment , so combine that with the spindle and you'd get 6" lift . Supposedly the new bend in the arm is what helps with that .

i guess i can see that, maxtrac cause camber to be out a little i feel like... haha

so if i run the stock spindle with the tc kit, i wonder how high i will have to preload to clear my 315's? I'm going to get glass obviously but it will probably be a week or two after i get the kit on.

I'm running 285s with about 3" of preload , everything clears fine with them . You'll prob have to cut some of the cab mount to clear the 315s

so I will be taking my maxtrac spindles off and running factory spindles for now, so to clear my 315's I'm thinking...

    -fiberwerks fenders
    -cab mount chop
    -preload the coilovers lol

any one have anything to say about how this will work? little nervous hah

also if any one like working on trucks i wouldn't mind buying pizza and drinks for anyone who wants to help me out a little. never put on long travel (put on two db lifts on my friends' trucks and took mine off) haha
