Got home to find the gate to the parking lot wide open. Somehow the gate got off it's track and wouldn't close. So someone cut the power to it. Well, I've got a solution for that!

Cool. Reminds me of when I used the hi lift to fix our old neighborhood playground equipment.

The xjack has come in handy for several non offroading tasks.

The apartment probably doesn't even know the gate was off the tracks. They're not even on-site on the weekends.

Nice one with the playground equipment. I gave the gate a tug to see how heavy it was and quickly decided that the bag was in order. :)

Colin are you going to be around this week to help with the snorkle install? It'll be here tomorrow.

I'll be working tomorrow and Tuesday, and then leave for the airport on Tuesday, right after work. I fly back in on Sunday evening. So this weekend is a no go if you are needing help.

Way to leave a friend in need... Nah, have a good time with the family. If I get too anxious then it'll be installed before you get back (more than likely this will be the case) and looking dope.

Happy Thanksgiving and safe travels! Tell the TSA hi for me...

it's actually a pretty easy install. just take your time.

all you'll need to properly connect it to the Volant box is one of these
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0035GY372/ref=oh_details_o09_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and a small piece of 3'' exhaust pipe from the autoparts store. they should sell a 4ish inch long piece for a couple bucks. the 4'' side of the red fitting will go to the Volant, and then you'll use the small piece of exhaust pipe to join the small side of the red fitting to the black rubber elbow that comes with the snorkel. you will probably have to trim the black elbow. the instructions tell you that you will have to though, so it's nothing out of the ordinary.

the joint will look like the below. the small piece of exhaust pip is half way in the red reducer, and half way in the black elbow. you will want to put a hose clamp on the black elbow as well. I just didn't have one for the picture.

you can see the exhaust pip section I was talking about in the background. I got a number of pieces to experiment what worked best. just get the short slice of 3'' and you'll be good.

this is how the red reducer mates up to the Volant box

yeah, so after seeing this picture, Kase, what i was talking about in that PM is definitely true. this failure was not due to the shock bottoming out. nothing you could have done to prevent this.

trying to figure out what intake and parts to use was a bitch, but once you have the right parts, it's pretty easy. if you have a stock intake though, i'd just use that. the only reason i went aftermarket was because i had built my own intake/intake box before the volant. it worked great, but was not waterproof.

psh, this aint carpentry. you can re-attach metal when you cut too much off :D

I still have all my stock intake parts. Hmmm, now I'm wondering if I can manage to use some parts from it?
