What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Got a little dirty today, and flexed out my all pros, might be time for proper bump stops

 

Led reverse lights. I swear these are twice as bright as stock.

 

Not perfect but it works.

Yep I am going to improve on it a bit myself. Was kind of a hurry up build.

 

Yep. I still need to add a gusset across the plate. But it is strong maybe overkill but I don't want the tire moving while off road.. Also it offsets the weight of the fuel tank being on the passenger side.

 

Haha, that sucks. I bet you could find someone around here to do it. I got mine through the race shop I got all my parts made at in Canada, but there must be someone close who can do it. It was just a big vinyl sticker basically.

 

Just add a hoop to the support bar.

 

Yea be easy to make your own tie down point on there. or several if ya wanted..

 

Where'd you get yours from? The auto parts stores I've been looking at aren't lifetime warranty.

Also, buying those a better route than OEM boots or boot slide mod??

 

Autozone used to offer a lifetime on their Remans. Idk if they still do

 

It just says limited lifetime, but it says if the part fails during the period on the receipt just bring it in, but how many times can you do this?

 

Bolt the ring on to the arm that he bolted in its place it will be at a different angle but it would still be useable

 

Installed some extended shackles.

What's the protocol for replacing shackles? Just unbolt the old one and put the new one in? Or do you have to drop the axle and remove the leaf spring from the axle/frame?

 

You don't have to remove the leafs. But truck fram on jack stands and a jack under the pumpkin and your good. Just unbolt and bolt the new ones.

 

Pretty much as Monte described. Fairly easy job with jackstands and a floorjack and the right tools. Had to scramble a bit to find a 1 1/16 deep socket for the trail gear kit. Now I have one for the tool kit.

Gained about an 1" in height but gained over 1.5" in droop.

 

Worth it looks good man!!

Now we will move the shocks and make sure you get alllll the droop

 

Ah, yeah... I'm getting every bit outa those 8.5" foxes now.

the passenger side is OK but the driver's side fully extended is 23" +. I measured ~23.125" Haha, Fox claims the shocks only go to 22.8".
