Ah. I was considering this (bolting with some o-rings in there). However, I constantly move things around.

 

How did you set up the inverter?

 

Dean or me? Not trying to hijack.

 

I bought a Wagan 1000w inverter from Fry's. I removed the panel where the outlets were and then I extended all of the wiring to the outlets. I put the outlets in the center console (3 in the back and one on the front). Mounted the inverter under the drivers seat. Ran 2 gauge wiring with a fuse to the battery. 2 gauge ground grounded to the frame right under the cab. It was a lot simpler than I thought it would be. It's also one of the modifications I use the most.

Three outlets on the rear of the center console. I will say this, if you plan to run three side by side like this, space them out more. One of my sons has a charger for his game, and its wide as fuck.

Damn, thats clean. Mine is HUGE and will not fit under there. Decided it would go in the Bed mounted under the topper.

Yup, one of those few 2nd gens that makes me want to build one.

 

Mr. Dean, how hard was it to do the wiring for the inverter?
I'm planning on doing something similar sometime soon.

 

Wasn't difficult at all. Hardest part was running the 2 gauge wiring. It needed to be ran through the floor under the cab, along the frame and up into the engine bay. Make a really good measurement of what you need because 2 gauge wiring is NOT cheap!

 

Amen to this. Ran mine all the way to the rear of the bed.

 

If you want the rear suspension to perform, I'd recommend the DMZ spring under setup with double bypass 2.5 shocks and hydro bumps. You'll get up to 17 inches of travel with zero spring separation and zero squat under acceleration. Tim has done his homework with this kit and it shows. A shackle flip will only increase lift, not articulation or cycle smoother. Stock replacements will only get you a little better than stock performance. A DMZ spring under will get you what you expect for your money. Go spend a few hours at Tim's shop, you'll be amazed.

 

Will it handle the weight I have in the back?

 

What about losing the ground clearance? I just had this discussion with Jamie a few days ago oddly enough.

 

I guess you can't have it all. The only problem I have with the rear end is the bump stop. There is about an inch of room between the bumpstop and the frame. It would be nice to have a little more and be able to use a hydraulic bump. I don't need anything crazy but I know there are better choices out there than what I have now.

Yeah, I think I might do the shock relocate down the road and get the icon hydraulic bumps. I have the ATO shackle flip for now but I dont think I would be going spring under unless I was running a truck for mostly dunes and hang time.

 

You don't really lose ground clearance since the leaf packs are so close to the rear drum breaks. Also the rear diff hangs down lower than anything. Yes it would handle the weight since the leaf packs are 12.5 leafs.

You have the same problem I do. My Timbrens are about an inch and a half from hitting the frame. Mine are close because I had to raise them with washers and I only have the ICON AALs. I hit Mojave with a friend last weekend and the rear was bucking like mad. I'm planning to run the ICON bumps, ICON double bypass and a better leaf pack. You would probably benefit from the same. Bypass make a huge difference and ICON has the only bypass that adjusts by turning the knob on the compression and rebound without needing tools. The ICON bumps will work with the bypass to slow down the last few inches of travel so when the bumps fully compress it's not harsh.
