Ah, is that what caused that? That makes sense, I was wondering why it turned out grainy.

Naw, that's just noise. ANY digital sensor is going to do that on really long exposures or high ISOs. The really clear digital images of star trails have been stacked. If you're shooting with any DSLR from the late 2000s or newer, the sensor overheating is really not an issue. You'll kill the battery before the sensor burns up.

Your body might have a noise reduction feature. It will expose the sensor to pure darkness for equal time of the exposure, after the original exposure. This helps gets rid of the color noise. But when you're dealing with really loooong exposures, it can be time consuming.

Took a few snow pix this weekend. Oh does anybody want a 5d2 for a good deal? I have one for $1,100 bucks! 10k clicks on the shutter, looks mint, it does have a light meter issue tho. Works in manual mode only.. or in live view, if people are interested, I will post up some sample pix I took with it Sunday, and pix of the camera. Oh it takes great video too!

Don't know if any of you may be looking for one of these still but this is a great deal.

    Sigma 70-200 2.8 Nikon lens

I don't have any personal experience with the sigma but it has pretty good reviews. Just passing along a deal I found.

Yeah sigma and Tamron have come a long way with the quality of their lenses. I have the Nikon version of this one and it's outstanding.

Guys, I'm looking for a camera. I want something that I can transfer my photos from the camera to my iPhone wirelessly. Is that possible?? My budget is around $400. I'm no photographer but I love to take pictures and I'd like a decent camera so I could learn a little and maybe upgrade down the road. Kinda been looking a little bit but not sure where to start. Has to be digital as well.

You could use one of the Eye-Fi cards and transfer the images to your iphone or android device. Just be aware you going to be eating up your memory in your phone doing that unless you just want it to upload somewhere then delete it off your phone. I haven't used one but it sounds like what your looking for. They are also on sale right now for black friday at Best Buy. Kind of pricey though for the size memory.

    http://www.eye.fi/

There may be a camera out there that can do it that I just haven't seen yet though.

Many of the beginner/enthusiast level cameras have wifi now and an app that you can take pictures from the camera straight to your phone. The only issue you may run into is your budget because that is relatively new so it's mostly on newer cameras that haven't had a price drop yet.

If you can find any Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals on a newish model that might be your ticket to fixing the budget thing.

I know Sony has Wifi on their entry level NEX-3N, but I will say they're system is kind of lacking.

Olympus has a pretty good wifi system/app, but their cameras that have it will cost significantly more.

I don't know anything about it, they're not really a main player IMO, but Samsung has an entry level camera with wifi that is quite inexpensive.

Here's the deal. There are a ton of entry level and enthusiast level cameras, all the way from a point and shoot, to micro four thirds, to APS sized sensors, that have wifi and the ability to transfer those photos to your phone. The only problem you'll run into is people trying to tell you that you have to have a fancy DSLR to take good photos. Don't listen to them. Get what fits your budget and your desires and grow from there. My advice would be to get a micro four thirds mirrorless camera from Olympus or Panasonic. They have good features, wifi capability, Olympus has a good app for it, I don't know about Panasonic, and best of all they are very small and portable and the lenses are tiny, very high quality, and there are tons of them.

You can't go wrong with any camera now days, man.
People go on and on about IQ this and pixel peeping that, and some of those people, not all, but some, never go out and just take photos. Technology now days has entry level cameras with much better sensors and IQ than anything the pros shot with years ago. Just get the best camera you can that fits your needs and shoot a lot :D

^^^Why I suggested the eye-fi card. Doesn't matter what camera you get, if it uses the sd cards you have wifi.

Great shot and processing. The f/4L has nice lens coatings that eliminated the purple fringe that most zoom lenses pick up.
