Same problem. Too many different key words used (ex: pictures vs pics vs pix etc) and I can never find what I know is already out there someplace. I'm not the best search operator either though.

That was sarcasm. Do you search the site with google? I never really have any problems finding what I need within a few seconds.

I'll play without sarcasm this time;)

1: A rattle that I can't find in my drivers side seat belt where it connects to the "B" pillar.

    2: No heated mirrors

3: Whistle from the front end. (Easy fix for that though)

    That it

Pull the panel that covers where the seatbelt gets anchored to the car. The access cab people just got a warning that the screw anchoring the seatbelt can work itself loose and cause a rattle and eventual fail.

Mine came with heated seats. I just got the TRD sport package and they were included. It's a DCLB and the seats aren't leather. I didn't even know it had them until about a month later.

    This.

I traded a $18k Scion xB in for my $22k Tacoma (which should be more refined for sure). In the Scion, I had A Killer Base Radio with a lot of functions in it, that I didn't expect from such a low priced Vehicle. It also has a nice trip/MPG computer and a digital Speedo and Analog tach. Basically the instrumentation was better than the Tacoma has. I rather liked the unique approach to centering the gauges in the dash. It Had Power windows and locks, tilt/telescoping Steering wheel (Manually managed), it had Steering wheel mounted Audio controls, and a Cruise control as well. The xb Had a setting for "intermittent" on the wipers. The Drivers seat had an extra "height" adjustment too. the xB had 16" wheels from the factory. Probably the same 4 cylinder motor, or very similar.

CONS: The 2014 Access cab Tacoma (The name of this vehicle has been a sore spot with me since it was introduced... sounds like some sort of cancer *carcenoma* Tacoma... just not an attractive name at all) Has Power windows and Power Door locks. It has a Nice radio, would be better with Steering wheel mounted controls. The radio has functions that do not work, simply because of the missing steering wheel controls. Namely the voice functions, that the radio actually allows you to step through set-up as though this function will work without the buttons... There is NO CRUISE control - probably one of the most simple things for them to add at the factory... This should be STANDARD equipment on all Toyotas. and for the love of god, why can't they install some wheels with at Least 16" diameter size? 15" tires are silly priced for what they are nowadays, this just adds to the future cost of owning the truck. either you will pay too much for a tire size that's just not common any more, or you will spend that money upgrading to larger sized rims and some tires that make a good replacement. I'll eventually put at least 16" rims on mine... Hopefully I can put that off for about 60k miles though. Oh! and the fact that I have read over and over, you can just add the intermittent wipers by replacing the Stalk for the wipers is beyond me... even the little xB had a single intermittent setting in their standard vehicle. The Truck could use a Trip computer set-up as well. A little digital technology wouldn't hurt beyond that little clock. The appearance of the dash is nice. It's just missing those techie items. and another oddity. I bought a base model truck, and it has this weird metallic grey grill surround. WTF is up with that? Could have just made it black like all the other cheap stuff they put on the outside... I just don't get that part... There's NOTHING ELSE on the truck that matches that one piece. Go figure. The rear seating area in the Access cab is pretty much useless. There shouldn't even be seats back there for any reason. Not even a small child should be crammed into that space. The seat head rests are so freaking large that if you leave them up, you won't see ANYTHING behind you. They just take up space. I will likely remove them permanently and store them in the attic in case I ever sell the truck (which I don't think I will ever sell). The Bed of the Tacoma needs some Coating or something to keep things from just sliding around...

Pro's It *Has* a Bed. I learned that having the xB. (Traded in a 2004 Ranger for it) I had forgotten what NOT HAVING A TRUCK would be like, and was sorely missing the truck in so many cases. The Tacoma has a nice ride, softer than the xB, as the xB was like driving a Porsche comparatively. Much lighter, much more agile than the truck, so a much harsher ride, so the Tacoma has a great ride when compared. I like the Track tie down system. well... I think I do. I haven't used it yet, so that may just be a fantasy after all is said and done. But the idea of it is cool. Other than the fact that it IS a truck of some sort, I'm outta "pros".

Wow... For all the cons you listed you do know that you didn't have to buy the Tacoma right? You're not comparing apples to apples. You're essentially comparing a truck to a car (even though the XB is like a little suv). A $22K Prius will have many more options than your $22K Tacoma.

And yeah.. I had a XB so I know what they are like. They are a cheap little car. They had some nice things like you listed, but so does a Kia...

I dislike that I can't completely turn off my entertainment system.

And that I can't use the plug in the box without turning on my truck.

Not Particularly, but I figure us Cheap asses get to complain just like folks spending bank on theirs. I do think the things I pointed out are oddly Bothersome about my new truck. Hell... I don't even have 200 miles on it yet.

I do see some some comedy to what I mentioned and HOW I mentioned some of it, but the actual comparisons are my "things that bother me about my 2nd Gen Tacoma". Is that cool? or am I going to become known as the forum idiot?

I'm just another guy that is interested in sharing and learning. This forum covers one of my subjects that I care to do that with. Sorry to have bothered anyone, if this is not acceptable. Please help me learn the ropes If I'm way off base with something...
