That's a loaded question man. Way too many variables to answer that. There are also way too many articles out there pushed by supplement companies and anti-meat wussies to get a legit answer. Even so, there are variables that will effect how much your body will "take in" each time.
Your best bet is to try different amounts and see how you feel, and adjust from there.

I'm not questioning your logic on this b/c I know you know way more about this shit than I do, but what is the point of eating a chicken breast with 30g of protein if you'll only absorb 10g of it? Now, I also know that with solid foods, parts of the meat will break down slower than others. But, if the entire piece of chicken was broken down at the same time, your body would only use 10g of that?

Also, what about shakes where you consume 25+ grams of protein in a matter of minutes?

Again, not saying you're wrong by any means, just legitimately asking

Wait a minute... You work there? Did you tell him he was doing it wrong? I believe you are in every right to correct him. More so than a random gym member.

i work at a gym too... i never correct people... and i'm a personal trainer there.
it's far too amusing to watch them in their retardation... i watched a dude put on gloves, a belt and knee wraps to do a bunch of cable shit with not even close to what one would call piss poor form... and then he did hanging leg raises. made my day

Well, got 90lbs dumbell flat press 6 times today 4th set. This was after 3 sets of incline press as well as 3 sets incline flyes. I was impressed with myself anyway. My elbow has been giving me fits. I'm gonna brace it tomorrow and come off of the creatine... I don't think it's doing me any favors right now.

I don't have the studies off hand - but it's there.
Just b/c XYZ product says 30g- u can only absorb so much of that..

As far as extra absorption - peds, anabolic steroids, and (marketing plug) Bio-Gro from the bio active peptides derived within it

With that being said- science is one thing and doing what works best for you is another.... Also I can find one study that says XYZ and I can find another to counter it....Everyone's metabolism is different so, some will be able to use, and burn more than others, etc...

Acidophilus or other probiotics can help your body efficiently absorb more protein.

haha Yeah, I'm not going to correct someone unless they come ask me...I'm not the type to go up to someone and do that, anyway. There's a few guys that come in and put on their elbow wraps, belt, gloves, etc....even if they're doing arms! I don't get it...gloves are for women lol.

I did, however, purchase some wrist straps yesterday. I was doing decline bench and my wrist started hurting on every set, so I'm gonna try the wrist straps and see if they do anything.

What is an example of a post-workout shake/meal for you?

How I feel when a hot girl at the gym takes the straight bar I'm curling with to go do barbell lunges... of course I let her because she has yoga pants on and it gives me something nice to look at.

Yoga pants== greatest invention of all time
