1998 tacoma chassis full of rust please help

    Hi guys,

    l just had a 1998 tacoma passed down to me but the chassis is full of rust, what are my options? I'm a newbie, thanks in advance for your help

    I believe you're a year too late for the 15yr frame warranty/recall. How bad is it? Could potentially repair, or part it out.

    Try to find a frame at a scrap yard a do a frame swap.

    Can you post pics? I'mguessing she's probably already too far gone to save, might as well just drive till the frame snaps in half and then part it out

    2 inch lift. LED fog lights (Cali fab) Alpine head unit. Kicker door speakers. Skar subwoofer.
    if it's not as bad as it sounds, you could clean it and weld a big peace of steel on it.. Or do a frame swap..

    Take a hammer and start whaking on the frame. Above leaf springs ECT. If you don't get penetration clean the shit out of it and POR 15 it. If you punch a hole find the extent of the rot and determine if it is worth welding a patch or maybe a new section. You easiest option to fix the frame would be to buy a truck with a good frame and blown motor and swap parts over. It would be relatively cost effective.

    Try to go to a dealer and find out if anyone bought the truck to get it checked out for the recall on the frame
