Doing some research on a manual tranny swap. I'm on the fence :)
does anyone have an idea of what my auto trans. + t-case would be work with 145k on them.

I believe you are better off selling your truck and getting another with a manual. IIRC people have looked into it and changing transmissions requires replacing the ECU and most of the wiring harnesses. The time/effort/money spent would be far less if you just sell your truck and get the one you want, even if you have to strip off and reinstall a bunch of aftermarket parts.

Well the don't make a 'MANUAL" transmission for the 1st gen double cab....so i can't just go buy one.

If i do the swap it will include a "full" swap from another rig. ECU and wiring harness would be included. Plan would be going to a pick-n-pull on a 1/2 off day and raping an late 02 tacoma!!! (If i decide to do it). My problem is i tow a trailer on weekends and im tired of playing with overdrive. I go from 19 down to 13. A manual tranny will allow me better control of my gears and more power.

Ah yeah, forgot they didn't offer manuals with the double cab. One of the reasons I went with an extra cab. One thing you might need is a custom driveshaft to make it work.

I had to turn off notifications. I was getting so much shit. Is there a way to select which subscribed threads you get notifications for. Just say you started a thread that was something important that I would to be notified if any responses but I don't want notifications to everything?

Yes just select the threads that are not important to you and choose "no notifications". Just the same as you would delete a subscription but choose the no notification instead.

EDIT: Had to take a second look and make sure i was in TW Live. There for a minute i thought i was in the TW BS thread.:notsure:

lol wouldn't it be sick if i could throw a 05 6 speed under my truck!!!

My brother did an STI drivetrain/engine swap on his 98 impreza. He's lucky because there's a guy in Cali who does a full hybrid wiring harness setup for a couple hundred bucks.

I just want 1st gen double cab sas manual..... :pout:

Of course. This thing revs so much quicker than a taco so I get to 5k rpm before I know it.

Would finding a manual truck and doing a cab swap be easier/cheaper?
