Happened between exit 7 and 19 on 95 in southern maine. Roads were decent, middle and right lanes were fine, covered in salt and decent traction. Big rigs wake pushed me sideways just enough, once I my two drivers side tires were over the line into the passing lane it was all over. No traction, super slick. Fortunately I wasn't going that fast, maybe 45-50mph. Looking back it was maybe a little too fast. But felt safe at the time. Only hit the guardrail going maybe 20-25mph max. No airbags or anything, no stalling, etc. Just put it in 4wd and drove back onto the highway. Pulled off at exit 19 to take a breather. Fun times.

I am due for an Oil Change...anyone ever go to Westboro (Ma) Toyota for service? It's right next to a movie theater so I can catch a flick while I wait....also toyota recommends synthetic right?

It's my first oil change w/ this truck...

That sucks. They are not cheap, at least it's under warranty. What tires did you end up getting?

I haven't. Been to Ira Toyota in Milford, there right now getting an alignment as a matter of fact , when I was in a hurry for an oil change. They were okay, for conventional and 4cyl it's like $35. Haven't been to Westboro toyota though.

Screw Ira, double check everything when you get it back. They left my bolts that attach the LCA to the frame really loose last time I took it there. I took it back the next day and made them fix it and refuse to go back to them.

It's all hit or miss everywhere....Literally every toyota dealer is 50:50 with online reviews...But I have a certified used that is still under warranty so I want to get the service on record just in case anything happens...plus I can get an update on the access cab door seatbelt issue, the light that goes out behind the heat/cool/fan display and my whining climate fan motor...

At least not by pushing the button.
I'm going to RTFM when I get home to see if I can shut it off entirely or not. Apparently pushing the button just gives me a little more room to work with before it shuts down the fun.
I'd rather not start pulling fuses, either.

I hear you there... Either way, I'd still mark the filter to make sure that at least got changed. Ira lost my vote because their lack of detail left me with a downright dangerous truck to even be driving on the road. Negligent techs will not get my repeat business.

No major damage to anything vital. Noise was just tire hitting fender liner. Only thing wrong is two frozen outer tie rod end nuts. going to order a set from camelback and swap them out/ get it aligned. Just sucks with the holiday won't get them for a bit. Dealership wants $65 a piece for them:eek:

yeah...that for sure...It's like the old Dateline hidden camera episode with the refrigerator repair men...

"Hi...um...I just got an oil change and didn't trust you and I can see I still have the same oil filter because I marked it to test you"

    uncomfortable silence....

I was surprised, IRA was decent today. I went in and just asked for an alignment and balancing, and for them to check to make sure nothing was broken. They checked everything over, tried to align it but couldn't due to frozen outer tie rod end adjusting bolts, pushed some of the damage out so the tire doesn't rub on the fender liner anymore, and high speed balanced the tires. Was there from 11 to 1:30, they only charged me for the wheel balancing ($55). Got rid of vibs at highway speed. Just need to get TRE's from Camelback and get an alignment. Not too bad.

Hauled the little boat today:( I was trying to sail this weekend but sadly the mooring ball needs to be taken off and there is some nasty weather coming.

At least I won the last boat in the harbor award. 3 years running
