Sorry no one to hold my camera at the moment haha but they function like any other switch back. Also one of mine was defective and would flash amber-white-amber instead of amber-amber whenever it got a voltage higher than 12.5 (running voltage is 13.88 with the truck on).

Emailed James at V-LED and explained to him the problem. TWO brand new LEDS on the way woohoo!

Oh and I took the pin with the green/red tracer wire out of the connector for the dtrl because the load resistors would over heat if the dtrl where on for any extended period of time. Taped up the end and zip tied it to the harness. I leave my lights on all the time with the switchbacks so theres no need for dtrl anyways.

why didn't anyone pm me? i would have helped you guys out earlier.
here's how i did it! thanks to autolumination.com

    1) before anything my truck is a 2010 and it didn't come with day time running lights, so i did the (DTRL mod)

    2) i converted my turn signals from stock 3157 to an 1157 socket only because i had already spent so much on the bulbs and i didn't want to spend more $$ on new ones

i then tested if this mod worked with regular incandescent bulbs for a day or so. then once i saw everything was good i popped in the switchback leds.

i'm actually not sure if it would work if you ran the 3157 switchbacks with the dtrl mod.

with the stock flasher the switchbacks blink amber with the hazards activated. with the dtrl on the hazards blink from white to amber all with no problem. however when the left or right turn signal is activated with or without the dtrl on you get the fast blinking.

    3) from my experience i would not suggest doing this mod without changing your flasher. you're just gonna burn out your $30 bulbs, it happened to me!

To fix the fast blinking i installed this (8 pin LED Flasher CF18 ALT)
its rated so that it fixes the fast light blinking even if you change all 4 of your turn signals to LEDS!

on a second gen. the flasher is under the steering wheel. to find it turn your blinkers on and you can actually feel the flasher click.

note: for some reason the regular incadescent bulbs did not work with the new LED flasher but the switchbacks did)

this is how i wired my lights:

    drivers side

the new socket came with 3 wires(2 black 1 red)
the red wire is spliced into the small corner light
black into yellow on stock harness
black into white on stock harness

    passenger side
red wire to blue on stock harness
black to white on stock harness
    black to small corner light

then i just used some electrical tape to secure it all up!

hmm, anybody else tried this with a 3157 yet?
I'm planning to put a switch in to control the DRL, and this seems like it might go well with that plan.

    White/Amber Switchback 60-SMD LED Turn Lights 3157 4057LL 3757A + Resistors #57C

Has anyone done this before on a 2012 TRD Sport before? I know theres three wires 1 GREEN 2 WHITE WITH BLACK STRIPE 3 LIGHT BLUE. What connects to what and where?

When your driving with your DTRL on (no lights) will they be amber or will they be white? If they can be white how is that done with these if so can you explain? I also know when the vehicle is turned off your DTRL are white and when your driving with your lights on your DTRL are white.

Just looking to see if its worth doing and if there are any helpful hints and tips to make the install go easier.

    Thanks for your time.

Depending on where u go and which leds you buy. Some pop fuses, some have a horrible amber, some work perfect. Those would be the ones that I carry. Resisters are needed for hyperflashing if you have the dtrl function as there isnt a flasher for 12pin flashers. I do this mod all the time for people. Looks great when you no longer have to worry about amber dtrls. White looks so much cleaner.

If anyone is looking for this mod and are needing to purchase these leds check out my thread below and ill take care of you.
