Nothing wrong with the LX450 (lexus version) The valve cover gasket is not a common issue. The most common is the PHH (pesky heater hose) A short section of hose that's in a PITA place to get to on the back of the motor. You can access is (barely) through the driverside fenderwell, or pull the motor to get to it.

That hose dries out and cracks from the heat in that area and will leave you stranded if it fails on you when you are not expecting it.

I've never heard of that issue. I've only really heard of the valve cover. My dad actually just bought a '96 lx450 2 weeks ago. It's black and has the lockers. He got it for 4k with 186k miles. Excellent shape. I thought it was a pretty good deal

Just curious, any particular reason you removed the center hoop off the bumper? Just aesthetics?

Also, gold Tacomas are the best...

Because it wouldn't work with 3 lights. Would have blocked the lights

I am heavily biased towards trucks. So I would say hell no dont sell it. Four doors and a bed, and oh ya that little fact you built it to be one extremely versatile go anywhere rig. Unless you are one of those guys who gets bored with projects and always has to have a new one to be working on...seems like a no brainier to keep it, after all the work into it and where its at. Seems like a truck thats just waiting and ready to go whenever you need some time off.

also, where do you snowboard at? Whats your local hill of choice?

Okay here is my thoughts on this..

i paid 13k for my double cab and its a cherry no rust bone freaking stock unmolessted truck with 148k on it.

Now taking into account that mods actually don't really add to the value of your truck that much and all the custom work you have done for it. I would be surpsied if you got more then 15-18k for it. Really, if ya wanted to sell it. Shoulda taken the 18k and ran.

Basically in my opinion, the ammount of time, blood sweat and tears and late nights with brusied and battered knuckles, out weigh any amount of money that this truck can be worth. Thats how i feel about Frankenstein and im sure you do too about your rig. Especially as its not your first and your still very proud of your FJ40 that you have so many fond and loving memories with. And you should be. That truck had a ton of your soul in it.

I don't think anyone can afford to pay for your truck to make it worth it to you..

Plus, i know your thinking about your two boys and getting them a fun 80s toyota truck. I love that plan. That was my first truck, an 86 toyota pickup. and my brother has an 87. Amazing first vehicles. But really..this truck is a great first wheeler for them too. Its outfitted so you know how it drives and handles and you will know where to take your boys to teach them with it very well. I already saw a photo of them driving it somewhere on here of ExpoP..And it hauls your two boys and you easily for fun trips with them.

Basically. I wouldn't sell it unless your super broke, or get an insane offer on the truck.
