What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I've been wanting to do the blinker mod. Hopefully will have a new bumper soon.

which bumper would you buy...
-Relentless DIY front plate bumper? (gotta find someone to weld it)
-ARB
-Low pro tube bumper with center light hoop (possibly headlight hoops, thoughts?)

I like them all but it makes the most sense to get the Lo pro tube. I'll save on weight, good clearance, fits my budget.

Pros for the ARB and relentless are mainly the better/ stronger protection.

does he make one for 1st gens???? your getting my hopes up. His hybrid bumper for the 2nd gens is one of my favorites

Yea since when did he make a plate bumper? Only ever seen a hybrid for first gens by him.

 

so far only hybrid since most of his works are toward 2nd gens but if more 1st gens want one im pretty he would definitely built one for us. Im going to get the hybrid bumber from him when income tax arrive.....next year.....

He didn't have any pics of his first gen plate. He's said he's built them before though. Said it looks a lot like the 2nd gen plate. I'm super anxious to see some pics of it myself lol. I'll obviously be posting a pic or two when I get it...

really? but i kinda figure they all would fail when i have 33x12.50s the steering is always going to fail quicker then normal

 

Yep those are the ones most are having issues with. We were going to put moogs in mine originally but for some reason the drivers side and passenger side were made completely differently. One side was American and it had a really crappy design and the other was Japanese and looked a lot better. But didn't feel comfortable putting two different ones in, so returned them. And then later saw all the problems with them so glad we did.

I know a lot has been said about the moog LBJs but did not realize their TREs were also suspect.

What is the better choice? 555 or Raybestos. Pretty sure both are made in Japan.

 

Moog upper ball joints are on my Tacoma for the past 10,000 miles. No problems or leaks.
