I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
Erik, are you sure that you have McGuards? I have them on the wifes car after the factory ones with the plastic chrome covers came apart. The McGuards do not have the plastic covers they are just chrome. They are also about double the weight of the factory ones. I think the factory Toyota ones have the plastic covers as well but I haven't had any problems with mine yet. If I do I'll get McGuards for sure. BTW the gorillas are OK, they use the splines one each lug but they are light weight compared to the McGuards.

That blows. When I got laid off years ago (I had also gotten out of the service, so no drill checks) juggling money was a real bitch. The one thing that saved my hide was working under the table for an electrician buddy of mine. I'm well-versed in construction, mech/elec, so I was able to do a lot of the drilling and installing, and he hooked me up with some sweet tools too.

If you know anybody like that, it's a hell of a good way to make up some money on the quick as a laborer.

Scott's getting laid tonight! Have fun at the show :)

    Opinions wanted-

I'll have a few hours this weekend to try and get some stuff done to the truck. I've got the following on the burner and ready to go:

    1. LR UCAs
    2. A/C mod- A/C only works when you turn it on, and not when you run the defrost (really pissing me off now that I've had to warm the truck up a couple times)
    3. Anytime fog light mod
    4. Pull apart the plastic on the rear end and knock out some of the carnage from the allwheels trip (I'm doing a stellar job of ignoring it entirely)

I'd do the UCA's . Rather have a good driving truck, and one that's not wrecking tires than the other stuff.

I would go with 1 and 3. Then maybe 2 if time permitted. Trail damage is just going to come back next time you wheel.

Yeah. The alignment is still good, but the oem UCAs are knocking against the coils.

I read up on #2, looks like a really quick wire snip if I can find the right wire to snip.

Correct, just tie it into the parking light wire (if that's the way you want the fogs to work). I don't know what wire that is..Mike, any recollection when you installed mine?

2 is the A/C mod. The fog mod you have to pull the relay and bend one of the tabs up. Run a wire from the bent tab over to another power source to trick the relay into thinking that the headlights are always on. Shouldn't take long either.

Oh it already burned to pee earlier this year haha.

No complaints, with the stuff I did in my 20's I have no business living to hit 30. Mostly just excessive alcohol consumption and blacking out at least once a week, following which I always thought it was smart to drive or similar stupidity.

They were put in no specific order :p Also, no need to rush the snow, I haven't even changed the oil on the snow blower yet.

I always warm up the truck, I just don't want the A/C running when I am trying to blow warm air on the windshield. The A/C mod lets you decide whether or not the A/C will dry the air when you use the defrost by leaving the compressor off unless you engage the A/C button.

But yes, getting the UCAs done before it's 15 degrees out would be nice.
