SO that basically t. I have a 2008 Tocoma TRD Off Road DC TRuck that doesn't do much time off road.

I'm looking for a queit smooth ride, and was thinking i should go with the tires that are on the TRD SPORT, but they are a different size.

    What would you suggest?

Thanks from the "guy" in Texas...lol!

Have you looked to see if the tire model on the Sport comes in the size on your OR? And I would guess that the size on the Sport would likely fit on your OR. (overall size that is).

Or you can keep shopping - Discount tire direct or tire rack is where I do all my looking for tire ideas - And then I find the best price on the size/model I want and order online.

Take a look at Michelin MS2's. Great all season tire that can do mild occasional offroading.

I'm in the same boat as you, my truck only sees highway and city miles currently. I needed good performance on asphalt and in the rain especially. I considered many types of AT tires, Cooper, Hankook, Toyo, Goodyear, Michelin, BFGoodrich, etc., finally settled on Michelin LTX MS/2 as they are 70k mile tires not 50k, my next choice was going to be BFG T/A KO which is not smooth or gas mileage friendly

i loved my BFG T/A KO's they were smooth as fuck for an AT tire (excuse my language) however since you say you need good performance in the rain i suggest you look at the Duratracs from Goodyear first, those should be better for you since they are rated better for wet pavement and since you dont offroad you wont have to worry about ripping the sidewall

The tires that come on the sport can most likely be purchased in the size you need. None of the Tacomas come with very good tires though so I wouldn't get those. There are plenty of other good choices. You may want to stop by your local Discount Tire and tell them what you're looking for. They show you plenty of options in all different price ranges.

np i dont mind the language lol, the BFG KO's look the most badass and I would love to rock them, but it would be a waste for my application, 20k miles less on warranty and about $200 total more for the whole job. I will check out the Goodyear tires a little more, I had seriously considered the Silent Armor and new Adventure's from Goodyear cause they were affordable

just from input on this forum that I have been reading the past couple days searching for tires people seemed to like their firestone's but then said when they moved to "brand-x" they didnt like the firestones as much, so yeah they are probably pretty good and affordable

I usually run BFG A/T's or General Grabber AT2's on my trucks. However I have come to realize that my off roading days in my daily driver are over. If I want to go off road I'll build something just for that. So a few months ago when I was buying tires I went off the tire racks recommendation and bought General Grabber HTS tires. They are supposed to be just about as good in the snow and I can't believe how smooth and quiet they are. And they were cheap. I've put probably 5k miles on them so far and I'm very pleased with them. Hopefully they will be as good in the snow as they are supposed to be.

I have a set of Michelin Latitudes on my 09 Sport. they're really quiet with a great ride. Very smooth. They have an excellent warranty and have been lasting a very long time for me. I will say my next set of tires tho will have a more aggressive look to them. I run 265/65/17's on mine.

My Sport came with the Bridgestone Dueler H/T(265/65/17) the tires sucked! They were to soft on any turns at any speed, lacked traction on any loose gravel or sand and don't even think about snow. They were quiet and the truck felt like a lifted Camry, went with the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO, most of my driving is city, but they works great for that, are quieter than the Dueler (shocking) and the truck drives great! Pick a good tire, but do not get the Dueler!

I use the Discount Tire method. Never really paid attention to how they rotate the tires.
