So my truck go broken into.

I was lucky that they just managed to get into the back window with out breaking any thing.

All they got was my old GPS and a bag with some advil in it. must have been in and out quick as they did not take some other more valuable stuff.

All told about a $200 loss not even worth telling my insurance

Im mad at the dirt bag/s who did it and at myself for not putting a bar behind the sliding rear window. But then again they could have busted the window to get in.

OK Rant over. time to try and make it so I can fit the truck into the garage.

My truck just stays empty, I live in a good neighborhood.

At least they didn't cause damage! Was this at your house or somewhere else?

To me it doesn't matter how much they took , it's that they had the intent to take things that don't belong to them

My roommates car was broken into last week. There really was nothing of value. Someone was going in the ally and checking cars to see if they were unlocked(from my guess). My roommate has left her car locked since she bought it 8 years ago(new). She didn't want to pay for a new window if the car was broken into. All that the person(s) took was a 4 year old Monster Cable your iPod plugs into.

This was on a street by my house in one of the lowest crime cities in America.

I guess you have assholes in every city.

We live in one of the newer areas and we've never had any issues here with anything when it comes crime. We do have douches in every city, not something that really can be prevented. Someone's going to get in, they're going to get in. I leave nothing of value in my truck. I don't know what kind of money they're are going to get for a pizza box I test Plasti Dip on and an extension cord. Everything is under my Tonneau Cover that is little of value or is on me(phone, wallet, personal information).

My window is above where her car was parked and I didn't hear a thing. But I guess they can keep it pretty quiet when you're opening and closing a door compared to smashing a window. I asked her if they took anything else and she said "no". I said, "no one wanted to take your 20 year old cd's of boy bands and Madonna albums"? She laughed and said "no".

^ But leaving it empty dos'nt work for people who like to keep tools, jumper cables, tow straps and the like in their trucks. There's not one cargo area large enough in it where I could put one bag with everything that could go in and out by itself.

The messed up thing is that today while my one roommate was home. Two teenagers were walking down the street checking the doors on vehicles to see if they were opened. They did it to my neighbours car and they went towards his work truck. He came out and yelled that he was phoning the cops because he seen what they did. He jumped in the car in the back of the house and went looking for them but they were gone. Cops said that they are going to keep an eye out.

Sorry OP about your vehicle being violated. Whether for kicks, fence money to buy drugs or on a dare, I think people should leave other people and their possessions alone.

I just don't understand a thief. They would rather steal something from someone rather than work for it and earn it on their own.

I'm gonna share with you all a trick.

A 1 Gallon paint stir stick fits in the the track as a window lock PERFECTLY, and they are free, even without paint purchase. I just derped one black and use that; the original lock on the window was broken off back in high school.

My stepdads silverado's toolbox got broken into when we had local fire evac's and they took over 1500 bucks worth of tools. And two months later they stole his whole truck, took it to Tijuana and stripped it.
