I am sorry for the loss of your sister, Sue.

Lynn and I have been in NYC since Monday - celebrating 24 happy years of marriage. Not bad out of a total of 39 total years we've been married. Had dinner out twice, once with an old friend, saw a great live 20s/30s jazz performance on Monday night, went to see the show Wicked last night and walked all over NYC.

Back home now and ready for the Thanksgiving weekend!!

Snowing a bit up here tonight. Just enough to coat the sidewalk and a bit of the driveway - and the temps are dropping.

Stay safe and enjoy the day tomorrow!!

    Evening all:
Yea; strange how they take things from people that did so much, and give more and more to those that did nothing! Seems like everythings getting bassackwards!

    Jim:
I believe they make a lot less than minimum wage.

When we were in, based on a 40 hour work week, we made right around 50 cents an hour.

I think it was $87 for a PVT E-1 in the Army back in 1969. That is per month. Paid on Friday broke on Monday. ;)

E-5 with 3 in & combat pay was 270 a Mo or so. All you needs were free but the EM club. PBRs were 10 each ... The PX for shaving cream or toothpaste:)

    IIRC When I graduated basic in 1983 E-1 was $565 a month. Just for a kid's perspective. ;)

    Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!!

20deg and windy today with snow blowing around - perfect morning to take a dip in the spa!! The tough part was shoveling the snow off the steps and from in front of the spa for Lynn. That WAS cold.

I remember that my salary as a newly minted 2LT in Germany was too little to qualify for a Sears credit card.

 Anyone else get a mental image of "6" shoveling snow with a towel wrapped round his waist? Sorry "6", but it made me chuckle. Happy Turkey Day! :D

    Morning all:
I think I made 17c an hour, but that was 24 hrs. a day, 7 days a wk. That may have included the extra overseas pay!
    Happy turkey day!

Did Boot Camp in 68 .... believe the pay was around $40/month. Didn't complain since I got a free boat trip to Vietnam shortly thereafter.

Younger folks think us old farts don't drive Tacomas .... NONSENSE !! I'm on my second one and have two fellow gliding club members that drive them. Only thing more enjoyable is flying a plane with no engine.

I really like my current Tacoma -- 2012 Access Cab TRD Off-Road 4x4. Only issue I had when buying it is that an 8-track player with a Reverb unit was not an option. DAMN!
